Guest guest
- I have an idea that may or may not work for you. I have used it for my son when he was younger. We (he and I) would set goals and then we had an "I CAN" can. This was a small can (small coffee cans work perfectly). Inside were small slips of paper with different little treats listed on them. Some of them were for extra tv time, or when we had extra money, a treat at Mcs or such. I used to sit down with and let him help me come up with things to write on the papers. This helped make him more than a little interested in the outcome. Perhaps you could sit down with and have him help you come up with ideas for treats. Then, perhaps a goal of say, at first to minimize the hitting incidents at school. Perhaps decide how you want to set it up and then when he gets to that goal he could pick a slip or two. Then, for days when he perhaps doesn't quite get to the goal but has worked very hard at it, he could pick out one slip. I know that when I had problems with things and my son getting his goals achieved, this worked VERY well. Give me an email if I could help you with something like this. Judith (aka ladybug) Hitting again Sigh... it turns out IS hitting the children at school. I wrote anote to his teacher this morning asking her to please tell me if she seeshim hitting anyone, and she wrote back today that yes, she saw him hit afriend. What would you guys do?? I don't know what to do, since I'm notthere. We've been using time-out at home when he hits me and Daddy and itseems to be working a little, but if I'm not there I can't do anything. Ithink I saw him hit a friend at church yesterday too. :(There doesn't happen to be a book for preschoolers about how hitting is bad, does there?? I think someone should write one!Mommy to (8/20/97)http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/2654/Keep smiling! People will wonder what you're up to!
