Guest guest
This listserv is an amazing resource and very inspiring. I'm planning to start my solo IMP in May or June 09. I'm leaving a 6 MD practice that is shackled by paper charts, an expensive lease and too many employees with no EMR plans in sight. Low overhead, reasonable fees and better service and outcomes is my mantra. You are all a great inspiration to me while I plan all the details. EMR, scripts, billing, scheduling yadayada. I'm having more fun then I ever have had in medicine now that I see the promised land. Thanks. Stew Mones Eugene, OR BTW: I trained in inland Maine at Maine-Dartmouth, so I'm envious of the snow, (and thanks for the pics) although I don't miss the shoveling. Guest guest
Wow. That's exciting that you are moving out here. Your name didn't show on the email so I don't know what your name is!! Pamela and I are going to get together for another motivational meeting (for me). She left my practice 4 years ago before her transformation. When you are out here we should all get together. What are your plans? Guest guest
hi again, stew - i keep forgetting my name doesn't show up! i'm leigh saint-louis - gave you my personal email - let's chatter off-site so we don't bore folk with our personal details. sound good? in the meantime, i'm a 3rd yr fam med resident with strong interests in women's health and folk with chronic disease - 2 populations who really, really need to not be rushed through eight-minute doctor appts. i consider myself to practice " slow medicine " . this is hard to do in the residency clinic, but it's my temperament. i ran into this community a couple of years ago, and love the can-do attitude around here - it keeps me optimistic. that's all about me! leigh
Guest guest
Hi Your mention of the ?camp threw me. I didn't know about the camp - finally had a chance to check out the syllabus and photos from camp 2008. I will definately do the camp in August 2009 - hopefully it's not when I'm visiting my in-laws in Maine (aug 22ish). What are the dates for the camp 2009? I didn't find a link for it anywhere. So were you in Farmington in 1995-98 when I was in Fairfield? Remember the icestorm of '98 - that was something? No power for 2 weeks out on Snow Pond.
