Fibro isn't autoimmune but celiac is - which can also cause "clubbing" - celiac is also found with a multitude of other autoimmune type conditions.

Chris

I dont think that Fibro is an autoimmune disease bulldoggergal.. its a syndrome but its not caused from our body turning on itself..

Can you explain what you mean by "clubbed fingers".? Waiting is hard, it seems all we do is wait for some test or the other to come back, which they finally do.. Hang In.. bulldoggergal wrote: I finally went to the gastro last week...it's been

I’ve also got cryo and rheumatoid

arthritis in my hands. My fingers have gotten somewhat strange looking over

the last 5 years or so. I don’t know what you mean by “clubbed,”

but mine swell & become inflamed so I guess you could mean something like

that. Do you also have RA? It can do strange things to your fingers.

I finally went to the gastro last week...it's been

several years

since I've seen him although the internists have always check my

liver enzymes and all has been fine.

I've had HepC for 20yrs now along with the other fun autoimmune

illnesses...Fibro/CFIDS, etc.

It's funny how things change with each year of research and patient

experience (I guess). I've always told all my docs about the Mixed

Cryo but none of them have seemed to know what it is or didn't care

about it...now the Gastro seems as, if not more concerned about the

Cryo than the HepC.

Then he notices that my fingers are " clubbed " ...could be because

of

the HepC or having to do with the kidneys, circulatory/heart, pretty

much anything. Has anyone had this clubbed fingers and/or toes?

Also, he did a viral count, still at 1 million as I was 10 years

marker test...for cancer? Has anyone had this test done?

He doesn't want to treat me without another biopsy (it's been 10

years since the last one) because he's worried about the psychiatric

issues...

I'm still waiting for the blood test results that were supposed to be

back last week...I hate the wait!!!

I had never heard of it before either but he went straight to them.

I posted a link but you can google it and see what it says.

I have a positive test for RA, along with positives for many of other

tests such as the ANA, EBV, etc...but the only symptoms for RA would

be my " bunions/flat feet " .

I had both of my feet operated on at the same time to fix them and

the surgery failed in both of them. My mom also had the same surgery

and one of hers failed. The doc said the two of us were the only

ones that has happened to...she also has Fibro, osteo, etc.

Is the AFP test common for HepC blood tests?

The tests have arrived...the CBC was fine except for the elevated WBC

(16K) but that is because of my missing spleen (the doc says)

The Cryo test came back even though they told me their lab could NOT

due the test because they didn't have the proper equipment(?)...and

it came back negative. I know this is a very sensitive test and I've

had it done two times in the past by two different docs, two

different labs, and both came back positive. Can the Cryo go away if

the HepC is still active?

My viral load was 1 million...has been that for a while (5yrs) now.

The AFP (alphafetoprotein) test came back elevated...it is used for

many different things but detection of cirrhosis and HCC is one of

them.

The TTP causes the body to start attacking and destroying its

platelets and red blood cells. I've had it three times. The first

time my platelets were at an undetectable level and my RBC was down

to 4. Plasmapherisis and massive amounts of prednisone and time and

prayer is the way to get it to go into remission.

I guess I'm headed back for a liver biopsy...grrrrrrrrrrrr
