Guest guest
Any chance I can quote or paraphrase your opinion without identifying you and post it to the Family Forum IF the NTs there want to know WHY issue two was voted down? It would be a good learning experience for them. Tom Administrator Issue One: yes Issue Two: no Commentary on issue one: I agree with , with this smaller group, at the slightest sign of trouble, a person could be booted out, and damage control could be kept to a minimum. Commentary on issue two: If I hadn't just this past weekend had the discouraging experience mentioned in my earlier message about the mixed group of aspies and parents of aspies, I would be my usual " bouncy, little lamby " self, and say, " Aw, give 'em a chance. " However, if this larger group is a bunch of people who are pro-cure, pro-treatment, pro-fad, and have negative opinions of Aspies, then I refuse to be fooled twice into thinking that once they get to know us, they'll learn to love us and understand us, blah, blah, blah. It's a big ol' world, and there will be plenty of other opportunities for them to learn more about aspies if they really desire to do so, hopefully in situations less potentially damaging to aspies. The adult aspies in my Meetup group and I have been burned, though, and I don't want to see that happen here. Of course, you could let all of this larger group in and boot them out one by one if problems arise, but it will be harder to keep a handle on with so many. Damage control could be a major chore for you guys, and aspies could be lost.
