MONEY talks...and there is an AWESOME opportunity to get $1.5 million dollars through the American Express Members project. http://www.membersproject.com:80/project/view/SJT6WB I am pretty close to signing off both lists I'm on because a week ago I emailed everybody...I mean ONE WEEK FROM TODAY to go on and nominate the 'More Alike than Different' Campaign and as of this minute there are only 309 nominations! WHAT? 309 in one week? I have an email list of over 400 people BY MYSELF...why isn't this being distributed to everybody...this is the POSITIVE AWARENESS we need and everybody is raising cane about Tropic Thunder when it will take THREE MINUTES to go and nominate, AND FORWARD the request!!!! And don't say 'I don't have an American Express Card' because they have a 'guest' option for the nomination process! The 25 top projects go forward to then be narrowed to the top 5 and there is money for all top 5 projects. Where's the money? Sitting there waiting for us to take it. At the urging of some wonderful people as well as the disgust at some of the disrespect I've seen against our kids and the stories I've heard where parents just sit down and take the garbage thrown at them by school systems and what not "praying" for resolution I decided to start the NATIONAL DOWN'S SYNDROME RIGHTS ORGANIZATION. In response to some of the emails I've received today let me first say that when I spent the time making the banner I went buy information where it was stated as "DOWN'S". A few said there was no apostrophe so I changed the text to reflect that as "DOWNS". Others have stated there is no "S" at all in it. Because it took me over two hours to get the banner right and any of the spellings is correct somewhere I am going with "DOWN'S". Here is where I kick in. Does everyone think whether a damn apostrophe exist or not is more important than the fact below on my site I have shown a small amount of THE RUDE AND OFFENSIVE RETARD SHIRTS CAFE PRESS IS SELLING????? ????????? ????????? I know some think it well intentioned but the site is up and will reflect the " 'S" so let's move on to larger matters!!!! Feel free to put your thumb over the apostrophe and the "S" if it makes you feel better!I have 2 children with Down's Syndrome and am sick and tired of my kids and others like them getting jerked around by the system and society. If Cafe Press were to sell shirts with a picture of Buckwheat from the Little Rascals and a red circle and line through it or using a caption with "NI**ER" they would be shut down inside of a day. Why the hell should this company and those that put these shirts up make money at the expense of OUR CHILDREN"S SELF RESPECT AND DIGNITY????? ?????My goal is to enlist parents also tired of this and, eventually, harness our collective strength to have the same respect shown for our kids. I'm not a man who pulls punches or takes crap. If you want to back someone who is soft spoken and polite then I guess I'm not your guy. Unfortunately we live in a world where hiding behind a bible and praying for God to fix things isn't going to cut it. Sometimes it takes someone rough around the edges who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty to play on the same level as the scum attacking our kids. This is who I am.I want to make clear and will only say this ONCE. I have nothing against religions or the bible. I have my own set of religious beliefs but that is a personal matter between God and myself and I refuse to pander using the religious angle. If someone is in need or a cause needs help I don't care what your religious beliefs are or if they exist at all. The focus for me is on our beautiful kids and not if or how you worship God. The main people behind Cafe Press may be church goers. Makes no difference to me. Right is right and disrespect to our children is disrespect. I will be updating the site with goals and hope to find at least 5 others to serve as a board of directors. We will be filing for non-profit status and, until then, I will finance this best I can on my own funds. It would not be appropriate for me to seek donations until our non-profit status is granted so you will not see a way to make donations... ....though it will come in the future!!! LOL!!!As for Cafe Press I've already spoke to them and they've politely told me they don't give a damn so I have a list of radio stations in their area of San Mateo, CA I will seek to gain time on one or more talk shows and do them. In the meantime I will seek some time on local talk radio in my area in the Mid-West. I am open to suggestions on anything as long as it has nothing to do with apostrophe's and "S's" and you can flog or applaud my efforts publicly here or privately at adminndsro (DOT) com This is who I am and what my organization stands for. As the board members are appointed and we gain more structure more formal guidelines and mandates will be in place. Guest guest
I got it too . That is from "Bill" , The guy who went off today. Spoofed Kathys email and sent that email to the list presumable from her email address. He had opened a yahoo group a few years ago titled downs-go-round, I checked it today. He has changed the name of it to NDSRo and that is what you just got invited too. It was inactive for all of 2008, no posts, and nothing since mid 2007. It is same list, just the name changed. This guy is bad news. Has made his rounds and many of us know him from problems on other lists over the years. From: Stage One <total-music@ charter.net> Subject: [DownSyndromeInfoEx change] N.D.S.R.O Site To: DownSyndromeInfoExc hange@yahoogroup s.com Date: Thursday, August 21, 2008, 9:35 PM Hello everyone!!! This is my first post since joining this group though some of you already know me. At the urging of some wonderful people as well as the disgust at some of the disrespect I've seen against our kids and the stories I've heard where parents just sit down and take the garbage thrown at them by school systems and what not " praying " for resolution I decided to start the NATIONAL DOWN'S SYNDROME RIGHTS ORGANIZATION. In response to some of the emails I've received today let me first say that when I spent the time making the banner I went buy information where it was stated as " DOWN'S " . A few said there was no apostrophe so I changed the text to reflect that as " DOWNS " . Others have stated there is no " S " at all in it. Because it took me over two hours to get the banner right and any of the spellings is correct somewhere I am going with " DOWN'S " . Here is where I kick in. Does everyone think whether a damn apostrophe exist or not is more important than the fact below on my site I have shown a small amount of THE RUDE AND OFFENSIVE RETARD SHIRTS CAFE PRESS IS SELLING????? ????????? ????????? I know some think it well intentioned but the site is up and will reflect the " 'S " so let's move on to larger matters!!!! Feel free to put your thumb over the apostrophe and the " S " if it makes you feel better! I have 2 children with Down's Syndrome and am sick and tired of my kids and others like them getting jerked around by the system and society. If Cafe Press were to sell shirts with a picture of Buckwheat from the Little Rascals and a red circle and line through it or using a caption with " NI**ER " they would be shut down inside of a day. Why the hell should this company and those that put these shirts up make money at the expense of OUR CHILDREN " S SELF RESPECT AND DIGNITY????? ????? My goal is to enlist parents also tired of this and, eventually, harness our collective strength to have the same respect shown for our kids. This is who I am. I want to make clear and will only say this ONCE. LOL!!! As for Cafe Press I've already spoke to them and they've politely told me they don't give a damn so I have a list of radio stations in their area of San Mateo, CA I will seek to gain time on one or more talk shows and do them. In the meantime I will seek some time on local talk radio in my area in the Mid-West. I am open to suggestions on anything as long as it has nothing to do with apostrophe's and " S's " and you can flog or applaud my efforts publicly here or privately at adminndsro (DOT) com This is who I am and what my organization stands for. As the board members are appointed and we gain more structure more formal guidelines and mandates will be in place. I only ask your support, not necessarily because I'm such a " nice guy " but because I am willing to stand up and work my God given big mouth on behalf of ALL of our children to give them a better today and better tomorrow, one battle at a time. Thanks for reading and I hope we can work together. Bill

Guest guest
I did not receive an invite but I don't post very often. Who received emails? I am wondering if it is just the people who posted during the two days while he was on the listserv, or did he go in and ‘mine’ emails from the members’ list while he was here? What a prince of a guy.
