Guest guest
Hello, I have a 5 yrs old severely autistic boy. He loves to be outside of the house. One day I took him out on the back yard where the pond is and he threw rocks and pebbles in the pond and he loves it so much, he can do this nonstop for an hour maybe more if I don't drag him back in the house. Since then everyday after school as soon as I park the car he is ready to run to the pond no matter how many " no " I told him and try to hold him back it does not work. I love to take him to the pond so he can have good time throwing pebbles but not every single day and not when it is raining outside. Everyday when we got home I have to fight with him and hold him and grabbed him and dragged him in the house. He is a good size boy and I am a little woman. Many times I could not handle him and he ran to the pond. I am hoping that one day he will get tire of throwing rocks and move on to something else but for now I really need help. I like to ask any parent and therapists how to deal with this kind of behavior. I am looking for something that he likes better so I can trick him to go inside the house. Any idea is big help for me now. Thanks
