Guest guest
Please help me with this question. We have a kidney patient who is covered as a dependent under his wife’s employer group health plan and has Medicare. He started dialysis on 07/03/06. On May1, 2008, the patient enroll to a Medicare Advantage program. He has not completed his 30 month COB, but since he enrolled to a Medicare Advantage Program, the employer group health plan is claiming that his Medicare Advantage is now primary and the GEHP is secondary. I spoke with the Case Manager of the GEHP, and she insists that they are secondary? Does the rule change when patient enrolled to a Medicare Advantage Program?
