Guest guest
I don't think she said anywhere she was better because she adopted. If you got that then I think maybe your reading into what she was saying. She was simply saying that for her personally she is relating more to McCain than Obama. And that for her action speaks louder than words. And as for keeping troops here to take care of things when they happen, there is another school of thought, that says nip it in the bud BEFORE it comes here. 9-11 was far different than Katrina. I get what your saying, but it was not the fact that we did not have the troops here to defend or take care of the aftermath, we did. In Katrina, it was simply blunder after blunder. I know, I lived it. I agree we need to keep enough troops here to defend us at home and take care of a crisis like 9-11 and Katrina. But I firmly believe we have to send troops to take care of issues elsewhere, much as I hate that, but taking care of it before it comes home is far better in my opinion. Coming from a military family, and having very dear family serving currently in various parts of the world, and having lost family/friends in war, I do and will always fully support our troops being over there to protect us at home. I do not want to see a time where martial law is imposed all over the US, nor where seeing military vehicles on the streets daily is a norm. Bringing all our troops home would ensure that eventually. While I respect your right to vote the way you chose, and to voice those opinions, mine are very different. I thank those who have served to keep us safe for that right, and ability. But as far as us being safe here? Have you forgotten 9/11? What about Katrina? Don't ever be so guillable to think that it can't and won't happen here.......but we are more susceptible with all our troops somewhere else.......~Jacqui .. It was not adoption that I was focusing on, it was the fact that there was actual action on McCains part. I mentioned our adoption and others adoptions to show that prolifers do step up and help out. We don't just sit back and try to tell others what they should be doing. Not every woman wants a child, so fine, carry the baby to term and give it a family, don't kill it. There are many families waiting! McCain is prolife and an adoptive parent. That tells me that he is aware that there are needs after the birth also. He is not going to say you MUST have this child but it is your problem after the birth. Being an adoptive parent himself he will probably be more able to understand this issue and hopefully have more interest in it. So many of the people elected to office tell US what we should be doing but don't follow their own advice. Far too often this is true. I didn't post to fight or argue over anything. I just felt I should say HEY! it is unfair to assume McCain will not do anything to help our children. Obama may be good to children with disibilites but he is pro abortion. That takes him off of my list. in my thinking if he does not value a child BEFORE birth then I have a difficult time trusting he will value a child after birth. Katrina was a mess. Sounded like a lot of miscommunication and confusion going on there. Sad situation. Lee Ann
Guest guest
Honestly do you really think that the Obama-Biden ticket will be good for this Country. Personally it is far, far too left for me. Don't get caught up in the glamour of his campaign. Honestly take a look a bit deeper at the issues...please! Great he wants to be Robin Hood so to speak but just who is he going to take the money from and who will necessarily benifit....to me this is just more taxes and more government and more waste. Take a look at just who is paying the taxes...it is not the Super rich it is those hard working familes who are trying to get ahead...take more money from my family and you will jussee less philanthropy and donations to local organizations that need my dollars to survive becaseu the government control of funds is often so wasteful. Yes, I am conservative which surprises some of my friends who think some of my views are liberal because I am suportive of rights for alternative familes or same sex couples raising children.
