Help we need another chickenpox vaccine I am freaking out!!!!!!

Just got blood work results back from my son's pediatrician. He has no immunity to chickenpox and they want to give him a booster shut. He is 6 years old autistic boy and I am so scared he will got worth. What should I do? Ask for vaccine ingredients and see if any heavy metal in there or Just don't do the shut.....Our DAN says it will be OK..... yeah right she does not have a child on the spectrum....Elena

This is one of those diseases that is usually harmless in a child. If your child catches is naturally, it's probably better that what the shot might put him through. Check out http://www.nvic.org/ to find the exemption laws in your state.

I f you end up having to get the shot, high dose vitamin c for a couple days before and after should help some.

Cave specifically BASHED the varicella vaccine at the recent DAN conference. Virus your child doesn't need. Best to be exposed to chicken pox naturally...get chicken pox and go through the illness rather than be vaccinated. If not exposed to them by age 12, THEN have a titers test run to see if the child is immune (child may have had it as a baby and it went undetected due to minor symptoms unnoticed). If NOT, then and only then do you vaccinate with varicella.

Also, it doesn't even seem to be working as kids are still getting chicken pox.

I would honestly really try to get him exposed naturally. The problem I have read a tiny bit about is that ...being the vaccine is not the same as the actual.. so called disease..chances of getting shingles as an elderly person ( which can and does have major health risks) are big. When you get the chickenpox as a child your chances of shingles is pretty darn low I believe. Just goes to show the vaccine doesnt really compare.

Elena, We just told our pediatrician we were opting out of any more vaccines and also have a religious waiver. We will not vaccinate at all while our boys are sick. If your pediatrician does not support this, ask around for one that does. We purposely switched this year to a pediatrician who supports a parents right to choose not to vaccinate. there is a reason why it is not showing up on the titers. Find out

the reason before getting another shot. Usually there is something

wrong with the immune system, is why titers dont show, or show very

very high.

- lol - totally back you up on this one and agree.

Funny how my dd got chicken pox TWICE last year within several months

of each other. Son got it only once last year but he had been fully

vaccinated.

The fear of what could happen , is why we are all here, we all bought

Personally, my children will never have another vaccination again. I

do not believe the benefits are at all as real as mainstream medicine

would have us believe. I wish I could turn back time. I would not

have permitted a single vaccination if I could do it over.

In the old days our moms would find out someone in the neighborhood

had chicken pox, and send us over to play. Exposure was a good

thing. It only became a bad thing when the profit margin was

same here had it as a kid, had shingles in college, BUT my immune system is weak as well from my MMR my jr year of highschool, I had a reaction to it and developed hypoglycemia

Christel - have you considered the shingles vaccination? I HATE vaccinations but am considering this for myself. I'm 40 now. I've never had shingles after that episode at age 27. I'm afraid of being one of those old people suffering with horrible shingles all the time! I STILL feel like giving my son the varicella vaccine was the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life.... wish I could take it back.

no I wouldn't, it's not CATCHING it from others it's from a compromised immune system under stress in WHY you get it. so addressing that needs to be what is really done, then you don't have to worry about it. I had an underactive immune system

Our DAN says it is ok not to vaccinate. You know chicken pox is not waiting at your door with a shotgun. If your child gets it it's not a good thing but the vaccine is surely worse. Don't vaccinate if you have a child on the spectrum. In Europe we do never vaccinate for chicken pox, it's all about making money and scaring you off. I know very little people who got is as an adult (I was very surprised not getting it myself while both my kids had it two years ago). NEVER DO THAT with a kid on the spectrum. Just read a mail on another list that confirms this very bad idea...chicken pox was the start of ASD symptoms for that kid (and vaccines would only have added the metal burden). Just forget about chicken pox, don't get vaccinated and don"t go to chicken pox parties. you cannot get shingles if you don"t get chicken pox. So if you don't touch this virus in the first place you are maximising your chances of not getting in trouble. It is just and just a question a making money for manufacturers. There may very well be a good reason your son has no titiers,

although they have found MANY children do not develop antibodies to

the CP vax the 1st time around. That is why they reccomended the 2nd

dose at 4, and are even considering a 3rd dose in middle- high

school.

My daughter had a reaction to this vaccine, which triggered the

downward spiral into autism. (most Varicella reactions will occur 10-

24 days post vax, btw)

We consulted an immunologist, who determined she has some type of

primary immunodeficiency, and he said " NO MORE live virus vaccines " !

My daughter doesn't have ANY antibodies to Varicella, and barely any

antibodies to the rest.

Ask your son's pediatrician for a referral to an immunologist before

you agree to any further vaccinations.

We were up against the 4 yr vaccines in March, and my daughter's

ped. gave her a permanent medical exemption to ALL vaccines, as it

looks like they will cause her more harm than benefit her.

Had it not been for the immunologist, and the labs he ran, we would

have never known, and she would have had to get the vax.

So, I guess my daughter will have to be one of those kids who

is " freeloading " off the rest of society's herd immunity!
