Guest guest
do your carnintine with fats and protein intake, so if they don't go to school, you can divide it up with dinner and supper and do your fish oils with it at that time and the coq10 Recovering from Autism is a marathon NOT a sprint, but FULLY possible! Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelking Newbie - Supplement help needed......Are we doing this right? We just got results back from our DAN! doc and he says my son hasmitochondria dysfunction and methylation problems. His gut looks goodand he doesn't think yeast is an issue. We have been gf/cf for almost1 month now and take 1000 mg of vitamin C, fish oil (720 mg EPA and480 mg DHA). We are going to start 500 MG L-carnetine, zinc, 30 MGCoQ10, and a multi vitamin that is high in B vitamins. In a month hewill check the acid levels again and maybe test for heavy metals aswell as add TMG and methyl B12 shots. Any suggestions on how to takethese....morning, evening, empty/full stomach? Side effects? Any andall suggestions would be very appreciated!!! Is there anything elsewe should be doing? We are very new to this biomedical journey ( andit can be very overwhelming at first!!!)Thanks again Tracie No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG. Guest guest
Add one thing at a time. My son gets an upset stomach from too much zinc. This is very difficult since he is low in zinc and he really needs it. If I give it on a full stomach right after a meal, he throws up. If I give it on an empty stomach, he cries shortly thereafter (I assume from a stomach ache.) So... I try to give it about an hour or so after eating. Too much, too, will make him sick. He can't handle more than about 25 milligrams. Also, do not give zinc with calcium. Newbie - Supplement help needed......Are we doing this right? Guest guest
Also, try to research things that work together. For example B-6/Magnesium/Taurine. I just found out about the Taurine with the first two, after almost a year of bio-med. My son's been on Taurine for about a week and I've already seen a big improvement. Today he asked me " What's happening Mommy? " He never asks questions. I'm sure others on here can let you know of other things that work best taken together, or separately. Kim PS IMO a month is too short a time to add all the supps you mentioned. I'd personally add one thing at a time and give each about 10 days, at least, before adding something else. I know you're probably eager to get started. The down side to doing too much at once is if you have to pull everything and start over, because something is causing problems. --- Handley wrote: > Add one thing at a time. Guest guest
The best advice I was given I did not take...and have been paying for ot ever since. I didn't GET it....a mom told me if you want the GFCF diet to work move AWAY from those inner aisles. I didn;t...I replaced Mackie's faves with their gfcf versions and he wound up with a systemic yeast infection and bacteria overgrowth....do not feed cookies crackers snacks etc even GFCF ones...get off ALL the sort of stuff and onto WHOLE FOODS only asap...once we finally figured this out THEN the recovery started to kick in and the other things began to work much more effectively...it is not forever...IT IS FOR HEALING. A years worth of gains in four months and 6 months of wasted time, not entirely of course...prior to that. Cut all c carbs, starches, grains, and sugars,,,a tiny bit of honey is okay usually, easy to digest foods are best, meat and veggies and fruit only as a treat or reinforcer for meds etc...sounds harsh but ut saves so much time money and suffering...the oils are essential and we have good gains with salmon oil from Vital CHoice, CLO from Green Pastures and Primrose from the health food store. > > > Add one thing at a time.
