Guest guest
Is it a commen lab test for neopeterin and biopeterin? Why did you have to send test all the way to France? Can any immunologist order lab test for neopeterin? Also, the questions for all parents here who are seeing Dr. Goldberg or Gupta, What made you to see them in the first place? What kinds of conditions that your children had and made the referral to Dr. Goldberg or Gupta? If my son does not have PANDAS, what should I tell immunologist to check on my son? Rei Fund wrote: I think the reference range for neopeterin is under180. The neopeterin level indicates virus andinflamation. So if your child is above the 180 thenyou want to lower neopeterin. To lower neopeterin youcan use the prescription drug called spironolactone(be careful with spiro as it can cause constipation sowe use oxypowder for constipation). If the neopeterinnuber is really high, like over 1,000 some DAN docsrecommend doing a short course of steroids to bringdown the inflamation quicker. You want the biopeterin to be twice as high as theneopeterin. If your biopeterin is lower than 400 youneed to raise it. You can raise biopeterin bysupplementing with BH4 which does not require ascript. Guest guest
Rey, The conditions that have told me that my son's problem are immune related is because last year when my son got his worst autistic symptoms he also developed a small Vitiligo stain in his behind. He was also getting Vitiligo in areas where he got cuts. Vitiligo is caused by an autoimmune reaction just like the brain inflammation. I didn't know that at the time, but I told everybody I was going to get the bottom of it. We took my son to a DAN doctor, which he still sees, and we did 40 session of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. In my research I found out that doctors were recommending before and after SPECT scans to measure improvement. Our first SPECT scan was a waste of money and time, because the hospital that did it didn't have the right SPECT scanner. For our second SPECT scan we went to see Dr. Uszler in California. Dr. Uszler referred us to Dr. Goldberg, prior to that time I didn't know about Dr. Goldberg. After I read all of Dr. Goldberg's presentations and theory the Vitiligo problem my son has it made sense and we were able to put the pieces together. My son's Vitiligo stains in his cut areas are now completely fine after we started the DAN protocol which means the DAN protocol is also important. Now my son only has the original Vitiligo stain in his behind of the size of a dime. Guest guest
I think I would hold off on the spiro and recheck the neopeterin/biopeterin levels in 3 to 6 months and see where you are. By raising the biopeterin with BH4, using the namenda, chelating and supplementation you may get the neopeterin to come down. We use the spiro but it does cause gut issues. The spiro is helping to get our sons testosterone level in range which is a big plus for us. --- wrote: > Thanks , this is really helpful, our neopterine > is 317 and biopterin is > 590 its marked as Virosis, we have used BH4 in the > past so maybe that has > helped also have just started child on Namenda, > which I believe is > effective by lowering inflammation it does it by > lowering excitoxins I > think anyway what do you think would you add in > spironolactone as well, or > instead of? > His ratio is 1.9 which is an average ratio - > Thanks, > > > On 3/5/08 10:39 AM, " Fund " > wrote: > > > > > > > > > I think the reference range for neopeterin is > under > > 180. Guest guest
I read about the cat's claw and the anti-inflammatory aspects sound good, along with the fact that it is used in bowel disorders, but I have a general question for you all. It says that it stimulates the immune system. For those of us with dc who seem to have autoimmune diseases and disorders, wouldn't that be a bad thing? When my celiac dd's GI saw on her paperwork that she had been taking echinacea, he told her not to take it again. He said that her immune system was already in high gear and that it shouldn't be stimulated anymore than it already was. What do y'all think? > > > > I bought cats claw today for inflammation. Guest guest
Hi nne, we use ebixa, and use 10 drops per day – our child is 13 and weighs hmmmm not sure, he is slim build, but heavy boned if that makes sense, I would think about 100 or so lbs. We are new using this and are keeping fingers crossed that we see good things – so far so good, certainly first time he has had a normal body temperature and a rash on arm has cleared up – and he is very calm which is good. Rgds HI, The Namenda has been helpful for my son as well. My son is 70 lbs and 2.5mg seems to help. What does is your child on? nne Re: Re:Ibuprofen to reduce brain inflammation..Now Cats Claw Thanks , the bonus of the testoserone level has got to be good and maybe that is what is happening Thanks again, regards I think I would hold off on the spiro and recheck the neopeterin/biopeterin levels in 3 to 6 months and see where you are. By raising the biopeterin with BH4, using the namenda, chelating and supplementation you may get the neopeterin to come down. We use the spiro but it does cause gut issues. The spiro is helping to get our sons testosterone level in range which is a big plus for us. --- <maryhe@... <mailto:maryhe%40xtra.co.nz> > wrote: > Thanks , this is really helpful, our neopterine > is 317 and biopterin is > 590 – its marked as Virosis, we have used BH4 in the > past so maybe that has > helped – also have just started child on Namenda, > which I believe is > effective by lowering inflammation – it does it by > lowering excitoxins – I > think – anyway what do you think would you add in > spironolactone as well, or > instead of? > His ratio is 1.9 which is an average ratio - > Thanks, > > > On 3/5/08 10:39 AM, " Fund " > <susan_fund@... <mailto:susan_fund%40yahoo.com> > wrote: > > > > > > > > > I think the reference range for neopeterin is > under > > 180. Guest guest
Good thinking. I just read an article about cat's claw, and specially indicates that if someone has auto immune or immune system problems, need to consult with doctors before consume cats claw. Our children's immune system is already in a confused stage, and out of balance, so be careful when we use any kind of anti-inflammation supp. Somehow these so called natural anti-inflammation products are more and less affecting immune system, so,, I will be very cautious about giving our children these supps unless we see an immunologists...
