Guest guest
Dorothy, I didn't mean to imply that the RA itself is a residual effect, just the added pain of it. Pain, all around, should decrease, but NOt go away over a period of a few months.Sharon in NW Washington Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but about how to dance in the rain.Dorothy wrote:Actually, I've reduced the toxins. I cut out interferon, riba & Procrit as well as 3 different pain meds. I added Suboxone in place of the 3 pain meds and the Celebrex now for the RA however. Not to mention all the junk food I stopped eating. I was eating tons of chocolate and other junk. Too much cheese and other crap I never used to eat. Cutting all that out now (well, cutting back at least) has got to be good for me and how I feel.I'd like to think that the RA problems are a residual effect..pray is more like it!! I doubt though that's the case. My rheumatologist is more optimistic than I am and he's been my biggest supporter so I'll try to look on the bright side. Some body for my hair would be lovely J too.Dorothy

Guest guest
No, I realize that. I don’t think anyone would expect RA to go away. I just said I’d like to think that, but I know better. I’m hoping for a remission. I’ve had those over the years, but the latest flares have been the worst ever. I was informed that tx could cause the RA to get worse so it’s not like I didn’t have warning. But as I said, my rheumatologist is hopeful and isn’t ready to treat me more aggressively at this point…..easy for him to say – LOL!! Guest guest
I usually buy the 'store-brand' of colloidal oatmeal, it's quite a bit less expensive,....although, sometimes with coupons etc..... I'll even use the oatmeal in a cloth/hand-kerchief-type of fabric, close it with a rubber-band and get it moist, and use it as a 'scrubber', sometimes with a loofah/face-puff kind of thing as well. I've even been known to wash clothes with it, to get the rest of the soap-residue out of things, etc. :-) > > > > i mentioned this before and tryed some suggestion it just seens to > > irratate it more and i get a stingy burining feeling and just dry and > > itcjy like sandpaper im waiting for fri to get ptes of sarni lotion i > > belive, and cna i shhot my self in thigh instead of stomach its just > raw > > > > > > > > > " There are souls in this world that have the gift of finding joy everywhere and of leaving it behind them when they go " > Frederick Faber >

Guest guest
The doc might have been afraid that it was being caused by Dermatitis herpetiformis, which is sometimes stimulated by wheat gluten. The oatmeal might make it worse. It sounds like the doc is just covering all of the bases, considering that there are already autoimmune issues going on. http://autoimmune-skin-disorders.suite101.com/article.cfm/dermatitis_herpetiformis I've also run across a link that suggests that interferon treatment can activate celiac type reactions - one being Dermatitis herpetiformis. I'll do some more reading and post it soon - very interesting! Good luck! Chris Good info,....
