Guest guest
I like the way you put that. The dragon. It gives you something to actually fight. Need that. P Visualizations Today is the day I start my 72 weeks of treatment. This will likelybe rough on my wife as well as on me.Since the topic had come up, I've been thinking about visualizations. As a psychologist, I know there is power in picturing your diseasebeing defeated, but I had not practiced this before. I'm doing thingsdifferently this time. For about a year I had played the online game "World of Warcraft"(WOW). My character was a Night Elf Druid. Among his powers was theability to turn into a bear and to summon three tree spirits to help.Hep C is often referred to as "fighting the dragon." I've foughtdragons in WOW. Guest guest
Well ,, lets keep our positive thoughts going for SVR this time for you! Dont forget to drink you FILTERED water and take tylenol 30 min before your shot and then again a couple of hours afterwards,, keep the severe sides in check.. and dont forget to eat a small amount of fat when you take your Riba,, just a teas of peanut butter, cream cheese etc on some toast will help.. If you dont get enough Protein, you will fight nausea so the peanut butter or cream cheese has both fat and pro in it ,, it was my lifesaver on tx! wrote: Today is the day I start my 72 weeks of treatment. Guest guest
I always had some cheese or peanut butter with the riba too….sometimes both! I kept it in the fridge cut in cubes. I LOVE cheese and I kind of miss eating it so often! Of course, there are plenty of low-fat, low-sodium protein sources available, but the real cheese and peanut butter lift the spirits too J I thought about it the other day as I walked PAST the cheese display in the dairy section at the supermarket. I would normally have stopped and picked up a couple of pounds. Guest guest
I went trolling the net for some kind of explanation to this. Seems it means different things to different people but here's a selection of quotes. Something may resonate with you..... "The dragon can sleep for thousands of years, just as the Hepatitis C virus can "sleep" undetected without symptoms for 10-30 yrs. ... this "stealth" disease, known in the hepatitis online community as "the dragon". The hepatitis C virus is referred to as the "dragon" because of its silent, mysterious nature. It can be a potentially deadly disease. It can hide (sleep) for decades without someone knowing they have it. It is like an internal fire burning, affecting your liver and other body systems and at anytime can cause havoc to one's health." The dragon is a metaphor, the virus attacking your liver. Hence you we all want to slay the dragon. "I found that Hep C has a nick name. The Sleeping Dragon." "In Chinese medicine, the liver is represented by a dragon and is said to store anger." May your Dragon sleep gently in the fight against Hepatitis C ...
