Guest guest
My son's eczema has also gotten worse since starting Valtrex/Nizoral. I just started no-phenol and virastop enzymes along with 1 drop Grapefruit seed extract (in addition to the Nizoral) this past weekend and his eczema is clearing up again. He is also on the SCD goat yogurt and 3 caps of Florajen probiotics. He needs all of this to keep his yeast in check. Maybe it's yeast or a virus? I am relatively new here myself but just wanted to pass on our experience! Guest guest
My 1st thought is fatty acid depletion, or a low vitamin A level. Subject: Crazy EczemaTo: mb12 valtrex Date: Tuesday, April 29, 2008, 10:07 PM Hi!We went SCD in early December and then started Nizoral and then Valtrex after Christmas. We rode it out and saw some gains but had a rough February due to too much SCD legal honey and juice. (I am guessing that those were the culprit because he did not have any wows after we rid him of his yeast.)Now, after 4 months, he is covered in Exzema (so am I though, so it puzzles me a bit). I just took him off of the Nizoral and Valtrex this week because his skin is getting worse and worse.Has anything like this happened to anyone else? This occurred with almost no fruit or sugars at all on SCD and additional anti-yeast and probiotics.. .Since other people in my house (like me, for example) all of the sudden have Exzema too, could it be something else? Any help would be appreciated. Our dermatologist and our DAN have no answers. Thanks, Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
http://www.dermnet.com/moduleIndex.cfm?moduleID=8 Take a look at this website. I has all kinds of pics of eczima and their different forms. Try to identify the type of eczima that you are experiencing and it will help in finding the culpret. My daughter is 7 (not autistic) and she has had numular eczima starting at 6 months of age. It never got better...in fact it's only ever gotten more severe...to the point of bleeding because it's so itchy. After seeing our doctor, she muscle tested for the cause and it was gut related. She had a leaky guy. We put her on a digestive enzyme called Similase Jr by Tyler and used some holistic stuff. We also had to cut out dairy and eggs. After 4 months, the eczima is finally fading. There is a certain type of eczima that has a bacterial base. Start by trying to identify it though. Hope this helps. BTW, Calundula Cream is a good cream to use to sooth it and help the inflamation....this is the only one that worked for us. Good luck, karen > > Hi! > We went SCD in early December and then started Nizoral and then Valtrex after Christmas. > We rode it out and saw some gains but had a rough February due to too much SCD legal > honey and juice. Guest guest
It sounds crazy, but I think we might be allergic to the natural detergent. I am going to give good old Tide a try again. I have gone " Green " but 3 different ones have not helped... We also just found out that my son has excessive ketones in his urine, so I am thinking that it is indeed fatty acid metabolism problems. I will try carefully bumping up our Vitamin A as well. Thanks for the help!
Guest guest
we couldn't tolerate green soaps for laundry either we all broke out, we are allergic to palm and sure enough it was palm based. we also have fatty acid metabolism issues, so perhaps that is part of the issue as well, we also couldn't do the dishwasher liquid either Recovering from Autism is a marathon NOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!
