Guest guest
Hi Kathy & all, It's been my experience in treating Lyme's that how it manifests in the first 6 weeks makes a big difference in how it needs to be handled. Some people present with a hot, quick, intense infection, with rapidly developing symptoms. That kind of infection needs one type of approach. The other presentation is much slower Blessings, beth beth Buchele HMC* Professional Homeopath offices in St. Louis Park, MN and Menomonie, WI _ www.healthnaturally.biz_ (http://www.healthnaturally.biz/) *Homeopathic Master Clinician, Graduate of Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy, Dynamis School of Advanced Homeopathy and Luminos Homeopathic Master Clinician Course In a message dated 6/8/2008 9:23:32 P.M. Any other ideas? Will, what do you know? Or what would Jerry Brunetti say about this? Thanks, Kathy **************Get trade secrets for amazing burgers. Guest guest
I'm not positive, of course, about MN, but here in New York, the local Health Dept will test the tick for a small fee (i think it was 20- last time my sister got one done)... Also, her doctor would definitely (or SHOULD) know where to find that information for her. This is definitely not something to play around with... my neighbor's son (now 32) contracted Lyme Disease when he was in 7th grade... it was a particularly bad case, and he suffers in near agony Every Single Day... arthritis symptoms, he says, are the worst... He's also went completely bald by 12th grade... Granted, they weren't able to treat Lyme's as well as they do now... It sounds like she did the right things, so far.. but she definitely needs to get that tick tested! Also, a quick phone call to any local blood Lab would probably have the information, as well Candace Musmeci Newburgh, NY ~Dipping into the Living Well...One product at a time~ Lyme Disease Hi All, A friend of mine was bitten by a deer tick recently. Guest guest
Thanks Candace. Apparently the doctor's office said they don't test ticks. They just prescribe antibiotics! Kathy
Guest guest
LYME DISEASE is now the number one most rapidly spreading infectious disease in the world. One thing has never changed though, is that it only hits individuals that are, for whatever reason, immune depressed. In other words, not everyone that gets bitten by a carrier insect will come down with the disease. Anyone who has heard Jerry Brunetti talk knows that he's been hit 4X with this disease. Either new episodes or reinfected. The TESTING is practically worthless. Don't waste your time. If you have symptoms you probably have it. Go ahead and agressively treat it. Incidentally, only about 38% of the positive cases have the classic " bullseye " rash around the bite site. You can have the disease without the diagnostic rash. If I was your friend, I'd take Ledum homeopathically, I'd also take garlic capsules, 1500 mg triple-strength capsules 2-3 a day for about a month. Spirochetes hate garlic! Garlic chases it out of the body. They may also wish to treat it with the herbal parasite remover, Cat's Claw for several weeks as well. Antibiotics clear some cases that herbs won't reach but it's not my first choice, I try the herbs and use the antibiotics on the resistant cases. If you do take the doxycycline, follow it with probiotics for several months. TICKS are only out for a 2-3 week period in the spring (right now!) so....SPRAY UP when you go in the woods. Use an HERBAL REPELLANT! Will Winter
Guest guest
I forgot to add that local herbalist MATT WOOD probably has more experience treating Lyme patients than anyone in the US. He's saved many lives and uses a protocol centered on homeopathy and herbs. His pioneering work with TEASEL and other herbs is featured in the great book HEALING LYME by STEPHEN BUHNER. If you are dealing with chronic Lyme symptoms you owe it to yourself to get acquainted with these two gentlemen. Antibiotics have their place in chronic therapy but many patients fall through the cracks and people die every year even though they were on the antibiotic regime. Good nutrition, good minerals (garlic is loaded with Sulfur, a mineral parasites hate), and other herbs can chase this cousin of syphilis out of the body. SPRAY UP if you are out hunting morels this week! Use HERBAL repellants. Will
Guest guest
I recommend anyone who has bitten by a tick or suspects he/she has Lyme's Disease to see Steve Tonsager of Flowing Rivers Acupuncture in River Falls, WI. . His treatment program has cured many people of Lyme's including my husband. The medical community would be flabbergasted by this--in traditional medicine Lyme's is very difficult to remove from the body and usually plagues people for the rest of their lives. According to Steve, Lyme's is much more common than we think; it can lie dormant in the body and hide for long periods of time and hide in tissues other than blood so that it is not detected in blood tests. My husband followed the antibiotic regimen after being bitten by a deer tick and was assured he needed to do no more. Although we brought the tick to the ER with us, he tick was not even tested to see if it was infected! The medical staff was very nonchalant about the whole thing. Months afterward he began having symptoms of Lyme's. Steve Tonsager detected the Lyme's in his body and after two months, Alan was almost completely free of the Lyme's and its physical symptoms! Amazing.
