Guest guest
Its not just about money, but also about power and control. The Democrats were out of power for a decade or so in Congress for the first time in more than a generation and they hated it. Now that they are back in power, they are back to their old ways of infighting over all else. They are holding up serious legislation for no other reason than that Republicans crafted it and other things are considered "republican" ideas and might benefit the reps if it is passed into law. This kind of infighting is nothing new. You can see it all the way back to the Greek democracies and the Roman republic. For some reason, most humans drawn to leadership are the totally ambitious, narcissistic types who want power at all costs. In other words, the ones who should be made to labor in the fields because they are too dangerous to be allowed to lead even horses to water. Just wait though. As soon as the Dems have the Congress and a president I fully expect them to do an amnesty of illegal aliens in time for them to influence the 2010 census. This will force a redraw of congressional districts, changing some and adding more in the house and those 20 million new voters will be dems. They will probably also try to give statehood to Washington DC and Puerto Rico, which will give them a further lock on power. Of course, if they do this, it will also make them totally unaccountable anymore because they will have the permanent lock on power. There will be no more check or balance against them. Isn't it always all about the money? Until the decisions they makethreaten to boot them out of office, nothing changes.KimNeed a new ride?
