Guest guest
Absolutely. I was able to get a patient into Healthy NY plan w/ no preex wtg period because she had Medicaid. We just had to provide evidence of coverage in the form of a letter from DSS that showed she was covered by Medcaid from whatever date to whatever date. Portability is Portability—it shouldn’t matter who the payer is so long as it is credible coverage & not some discount “insurance”. The only one I have had trouble with proving as prior “credible” coverage is the VA. Apparently being covered by the VA for all your medical care doesn’t count—doesn’t make sense either—but then again, a lot of things don’t make sense in “insurance land” Meredith Gray Liver Transplant Financial Coordinator University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital 601 Elmwood Avenue Box 602 Rochester, NY 14642 (fax) (pager) This message contains information which may be confidential and privileged. Guest guest
As long as it is GROUP coverage, the portability applies. Medicaid & Medicare & VA are “group” coverage.
