Guest guest
You have to have forty quarters or ten years of work in if you are an adult. If you are divorced, usually a woman, and did not work, you have to have been married ten years to use your husbands quarters. For kids under 26 and living at home they can use their parents quarters. They applied for Medicare and were told that they didn't qualify because they didn't have enough working quarters. The feedback formed the basis of ASTS comments submitted to OPTN/UNOS in March 2008 (see attached) and continued dialogue. Now that we are over 18 months into the program, the ASTS leadership has asked the Scientific Studies Committee to conduct a follow-up survey to re-evaluate the system with special focus on program size, the impact of high sequence number (previously turned down) offers and the impact on outcomes. Once again, we would be interested in hearing from TFC and tx administrators and would be appreciative if you could forward the survey to the appropriate people. Guest guest
Are you saying that a pt with ESRD does not qualify for Medicare unless they have enough working credits? I have read on the CMS website that if they do not have enough working credits that they still qualify its just not premium- free. Can someone clarify this?
