Guest guest
Hi. My name is Louise. I've been a member of the FamForum for over 2 years and Tom was kind enough to let me join your forum. I'm the mother of , a 23 year old diagnosed with AS when he was 18. My partner and I are also parents to , age 31 (undiagnosed Aspie), , age 25 and , chronologically age 20, but developmentally an infant. He has a progressive, terminal illness (epileptic encephalopathy) and we've been constantly battling with his nursing home facilty to get proper care (including pain management)....but that's a subject for another time. While I'm not sure whether or not anyone would officially diagnose me with AS, I definitely have multiple characteristics. I've learned so much through the FamForum, both about and myself and have received support I could never find elsewhere. I'm looking forward to my membership in this list. Articulation issues, swalling, motor planning (as the course of study is speech and language pathology. My son has a communication disorder, she sort of accused me of tring to get in by unfair advantage. I was trying to show my determination and my investment. I met with her and I hope I smoothed over this misconception but no graduate course of study this year for me. I have to wait till next year to re-apply. I will of course use that time to get some kick butt grades, as well as more standardized scores. It was pointed out to me that because most people anipulate to get what they want all the time so this (perception) is carried forward even when someone is honest. Can you believe suffering for honesty. I want to be able to ask um exactly why wasn't I chosen? By showing top marks in all areas anyway onward. goofy. Really kim thanks had to vent a bit. You know hoop jumping and ego massage (not my strong suit, if I can't respect the person in question) I am plugging, and I am planning, just the tedium you know (actually 6 months ago this treatment was devistating, between this board and the school psycologist, I am able to move past it and forge ahead) This guy is in rinkydink worcester state college, but he seemed to accept my AS and was very helpful and not judgemental at all. But everyone here is kinda my link to reality. (the reality that should be vs. the reality that is) Stick that feather in your collective cap as well (everyone) gee 39 and I might actually grow sorta up someday soon. I told my ex that I had been working hard to undo all the damage that was done by my trusting him (I think I should have trusted me, well i started by trusting Ravi first)
Guest guest
This is true. In the business degree course that I took, the best teachers gave many personal anecdotes and other stories. These examples of first hand experience were more helpful than most of what we read in the texts. We still had to learn that material of course, its just that the real life examples were more practical on a day to day basis for most of us. In a message dated 5/8/2008 6:17:11 P.M.
