Guest guest
I'm so disappointed that I wasn't able to make it to the swap today. After spending an extra hour shoveling off the driveway, my husband got called into work. Instead of leaving kids to their own means as far as getting chores done and lunch, I decided to just stay home. I had to work at another venue in the afternoon anyway. Can someone please tell me who was there and what happened and what good food you ate? Kathy
Guest guest
Kathy, It was my first Shop and Swap so I do not have anything to compare it to. I thought it was great for a S'n'S. And it was fun to put more faces with names. That said, I was a little disappointed with the GAPS part of it. There were a few stands that didn't even know what GAPS was and at least 1 stand that had nothing GAPS friendly. My summary: Great traditional foods event. Okay GAPS event. (I didn't stay for the whole even though. Was there a speaker or conversation???) On a really great note, I FINALLY got some goat milk for my son. Now if those ducks would start laying... Thanks for everyone that help make the event possible and thank you Becca for the GAPS friendly Beccaroons. NUM! Blessings,
Guest guest
, Thanks for letting me know about the swap. I hate to miss out! I take it you are on the GAP diet? Yes, the warehouse is more GAPS friendly than most venues, but it's not guaranteed. There was supposed to be a speaker/discussion. Does anyone know how that ended up going? Kathy P.S. Is your son enjoying the goat's milk?
Guest guest
, It was great to meet you! Thanks so much for the candid feedback. It wasn't our intention for the entire swap to focus on GAPS, however that may not have been commiunicated well. I will be sure to make the distinction between the vendors (general) and topic (specific) known for future swaps, as well as inform the vendors so they can be thinking how to tailor their goods as appropriate. We did have a roundtable hosted by myself and three members of the natural health community where we discussed GAPS as well as other elimination diets. In hindsight, it would have been nice to host at two times -- another consideration for the future. <snip> That said, I was a little disappointed with the GAPS part of it.
