OT: Christmas Tree

Does anyone know where to find a tree that is not sprayed/grown using

conventional pesticides/fertilizers or weird dyes? I've called around

and most places seem to use sprays of some kind.

I know there are certified organic trees in other areas of the country

and something called " naturally grown " which would suffice too.

We are on the fence about whether to even get a tree if we can't find

a clean one. Any ideas?

Thanks,

.

Did you try Mother Earth Gardens on 42nd Ave in South Minneapolis?  They've got

trees, and they sell a lot of organic stuff, although I'm not sure that their

trees are.  It would be worth checking out.

We bought our tree from Valley Natural Foods in Burnsville. No sprays or dyes

used and they are $39. We just put ours up today and it looks beautiful!

Another great option, if you have the space and a green thumb, is a

Norfolk Island Pine. Have a living Christmas Tree! That's what our

family does, and we love it: a beautiful tree in the house year-round,

decorated with lights and ornaments in December. Lovely. Norfolks are

a tropical pine and come in all different sizes - they are also very

easy to prune when they get too large.

Our tree is 12 years old now, and 7 ft tall. I got it from my SIL 11

years ago, when it was knee-high. 100% organic, baby.
