Guest guest
I have no idea but I didn't think that they could have your child evaluated without your permission. Is this an update/evaluation? > > Is a parent signature required in order to have additional testing done > at school? This child is already in SpEd (Austism). Guest guest
It's a long story but to sum it up, he started having behavior problems (pinching) due to a poorly implemented IEP. The mom is very involved and is trying to work with the school but they told her " they just do not have the resources to deal with him at this school " . The principal called her in before the break and told her she had requested a FBA and had also asked PhycServices to evaluate him - which really bothered her. The ARD scheduled for next week was to discuss goals on his IEP but the notice she received said they will also be discussing full day attendance (she has been picking him up at 12:30 so she can take him to therapies and do ABA with a private contractor at home), placement and the IEP goals. She is afraid they are going to make her move to the other school and put him in the " Autism Unit " (principal's words). She needs help. Guest guest
It is my understanding that any testing and/or evaluation needs to be done AFTER a written consent has been signed.
Guest guest
You are correct that they must notify the parent if they are going to do testing if it is psych or learning. If it is just basic classroom tests then no. Make sure you check on last ard papers to make sure that testing at a later date is not included in those papers. Sometimes they will sneak that in there. betterhealth123 wrote: Is a parent signature required in order to have additional testing done at school? This child is already in SpEd (Austism). I thought the parents had to agree to any testing with written consent. Debbie A --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Search.
