What a wonderful topic! I have noticed that the incidence of girls is

extremely high compared to boys (we have way more girls than boys) and I

have been wondering why. I do know that boy babies (in and out of utero)

are more delicate than girls. I have not been able to find any information

about what the statistics are though (what percentage of babies born are

girls vs boys) but from my own circle of people I know, it is waaayyyy more

girls than boys.

Even beyond the ratios of boy vs girl births....  Boys are more effeminate these

days then they used to be.   We've gone from  " real men " to " metrosexual " ... 

Marlboro man vs our current sex symbols.    its interesting to look at ...   but

there are fewer muscular, strong men who aren't stuck behind a desk.  Even in my

own family. the boys are thing as rails, barely able to stand against a strong

wind, at least as *I* see them

Is this due to the amount of phyto-estrogens in our diets (ie: Soy), or is it

just another cycle that the world is following?

We just went to an extended family christmas party, and out of all of

the children 10 and under (I think about 12 altogether) only 2 were

girls. So, at least in our family, the opposite seems to be true.

Though, (shining with pride), my boys seemed to be the healthiest ones

there, and I know none of the other parents are into traditional foods.

The potluck style dinner was SAD, but it was totally worth it to see

family members I haven't seen in years.
