Hi there and welcome to the area! My son is almost 5 and is also PDD.

We live in Rockwall (east suburb of Dallas) and while I don't know of

anything on your side of town, there are several in the area. I don't

know much about Carrollton ISD but we have had wonderful experiences

with Rockwall. Hopefully someone else here can give you more info.

Just wanted to say welcome and good luck!

Dr. Rao (DAN) has an office in Plano and Carrollton.

ABA - The Brent Woodall Foundation - in Carrollton I think

ABA Academy - in Arlington

DFW Center for Autism (ABA)- in Grapevine

Speech - Monkey Mouths - in Bedford

Hope this helps.

Depending on what part of Carrollton you are moving to, you will be in

either Carrollton ISD or ville ISD. If you have not made a permanent

decision as of yet to exactly where you will be moving, Flower Mound ISD has

some excellent programs for children on the spectrum. Flower Mound is not

too far from Carrollton and the schools are in the ville ISD (although

separate towns).

I have only heard excellent things about the PPCD programs in FM and your

child will be eligible once he turns three.

Hello,

We just moved from the Carrollton farmer's branch ISD (cfbisd) district in

July 2007. I really hated to leave there. That district was the best schools

that I had ever dealt with as far as the PPCD programs. They were always

concerned with how my children's progress was going and offered all kinds of

programs and esy services. You should really have no problems when

transitioning to the schools. I do know that they like for you to call to get

transfer ARD set up asap so that they can hopefully have that ARD before school

starts. The CFBISD phone# is . Just let them know that you are

moving to the area and your son's situation and they will get you to the right

department. Let me know if you have any problems. Good Luck.

Well, I LOVE our speech therapist - her name is Rollins and

her website is www.kidspeakdallas.com - I swear, she's magic! She

has been by far the biggest contributor to my son's success. :)

Feel free to email me directly if you want more info about her!
