From the listowner & moderator

Listmates

Just wanted to thank you all for making this network such a wealth of

information and support...

As I was " approving " new members - I noticed that this group was founded

in 1999 --- and today, we have 1999 members!

When I took over this list - it was 50 members or so!

It is such a blessing to see the membership grow - because that means

that more parents are getting the networking and support they need!

It is very much a blessing to also see the " professional " members of

this group grow. There are teachers and therapists and clinicians asking

to be approved for membership for the purpose of learning more about

autism and how they can help their students, clients, and patients.

Keep referring this network to your friends and especially new families!

Send them to www.TexasAutismAdvocacy.org and the links to join are on

the home page!

And also the order form for the 2008 Autism Awareness Calendar is on the

front page as well!

Support our efforts in Texas by purchasing a calendar!

The funds help Northwest Houston Chapter Autism Society of America serve

parents. We use the funds for books for our Lending Library and for

conferences and meetings that we host....

Or - just buy one because if you don't you'll have to endure more

messages like this one where I beg you to buy one!

LOL

Everyone knows someone with Autism - buy one or two to have to give to a

parent you meet or to give to a therapy center, etc. There are really

good resources in there for educators, parents, clinicians, etc.

Buy one and send it to your Legislator with a personal note about how

Autism affects your family!

Go to www.TexasAutismAdvocacy.org and click on the order form under the

sample picture on the home page. Print it out and mail it in with your

check or money order.

Happy 2008 to each of you - thank you for making this networking group

so awesome!

Sincerely,

M. Guppy

" There are some aspects of a person's life that we have no right to

compromise. We cannot negotiate the size of an institution. No one

should live in one. We cannot debate who should get an inclusive

education. Everyone should. We cannot determine who does and who does

not get the right to make their own choices and forge their own futures.

All must. "
