Guest guest
The families involved in the Wynberg case are asking for some assistance. The funding for the lawyers will be depleted at the end of February, which is when the trial was supposed to end. We now know the trial will not be completed until the end of April -- that means the lawyers will not be paid for those two months unless funds are raised. The gov't has recently applied even further tactics to extend the duration of the case, which the judge has penalized the gov't lawyers for, however, the costs are mounting for the families involved and the families are in need of some financial assistance. The families have taken further efforts to achieve some fundraising initiatives- they have successfully found a generous donor who will match any monies they can raise, up to $20,000. The families are asking that if everyone in the autism community could contribute perhaps up to $100 each, then their burdens would be drastically lessened. We all face true financial hardships in dealing with the many costs involved in raising our kids with ASD, but I am sure that most of us could afford to contribute $50 or $100 for the Wynberg case. And remember that any monies you can afford to contribute will be doubled for the families. Also, the decisions made in this case would affect services for all children in the province, it is a small contribution to make to achieve such a large goal. If you are able to assist, please make your cheque payable to: Friends of Children with Autism These cheques should be mailed to the following address: Friends of Children with Autism c/o 75 Duplex Avenue Toronto, Ontario M4R 1W5 or if you prefer to send the cheque directly to their lawyer, make the cheque payable to: The Law Office of Eberts and mail the cheque to their lawyers office at: Eberts Symes Street Pinto and Jull 133 Lowther Avenue Toronto, Ontario M5R 1E4 Please feel free to share this e-mail with anyone you feel will be able to assist.
