Hi, Kim,

My 9-year old dog just finished a month on antibiotics due to anaplasma

infection (tick-bourne disease). As per the suggestion of Dr. Pierce,

chiropractic neurologist and very knowledgeable healer, I gave my dog one

capsule of Theralac probiotics 3 to 4 hours AFTER giving him the antibiotics.

The probiotic needs to be taken after, not before, the antibiotic or else the

antibiotic will kill the probiotic as well as the bad stuff you are trying to

eliminate. He took the antibiotic 2x a day, but I only gave him the probiotic

once a day. This kept his digestive system from developing problems from the

antibiotic and he continued to digest his food well and eliminate well. He's

recovered well from the infection and is doing very well now.

Theralac (a therapeutic quality probiotic, has 3 strains of lactobacilli and 2

strains of bifidobacterium) can be purchased at Seward Co-op or from the

bookstore at Northwest Health Sciences University - www.nwhealth.edu - 2501 W.

84th St., Bloomington, MN 55431, ). Theralac is made in Plymouth,

MN, so I assume it's very fresh. I take it occasionally myself.

But you don't have to use this brand; any therapeutic quality probiotic will do

the job. Just make sure it has several active strains.

R.

I have a dog that has been put on antibiotics for the next 3 weeks. I'm

wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me to help her get through this.

Can I put her on probiotics? If so, should I put her on them now or should

I wait until she is done with them? Thanks for your help!
