Guest guest
Yes, we're still basically normal. Tim said the biggest gusts we've had so far are about 30 mph. Think it's supposed to hit us around 3 a.m. I think he's a little disappointed - he loves storms. Weirdo! Thank you! Shari Shari, you must still have power? It sounds as though is getting hit now . Guest guest
HAHAHAHAHAHA - I get an upset stomach when I hear thunder! But I grew up in Amarillo with tornadoes. We don't have basements down here, and I remember so many times my whole family cramped in my parents' closet. Shari I like storms too. I think it would 'fun' to sit through a hurricane at least once in my life. Not a HUGE one of course...my brother was a hurricane hunter and my Dad would load us all up at the first hint of storm to try and catch sight of a tornado and he also loved to go driving in blizzards..... lots of us weirdo's out there to be sure. Guest guest
Weathering the storm is often not as bad as the aftermath. Then comes the clean up, no electricity, sometimes no water, and always in the summer. THAT is bad...no AC! Even with a generator it is rare to be able to run AC. ette --------- Re: [DownSyndromeInfoExchange] Praying for everyone in Ike's path Yes, we're still basically normal. Guest guest
I’ve been through several, and no two are the same. I was in Beaumont for with no electricity for two weeks. The longest two weeks of my life! I am still mad that we did not get one drop of rain. Storms are kinda rare up here, at least coming from Houston that is. So storms are a big deal when it happens. Tornado’s are the ones that scare me. We’ve had a couple of scares this year where we were ready to head to the closets and hunker down. , Mom to Phoebe 3 Ds and cystic fibrosis, and Nolan 6, speech delay Proud wife to Steve, the love of my life... phoebe updates here “A mind is a fire to be kindled, not a vessel to be filled.†—Plutarch (46-137), historian, biographer, essayist From: DownSyndromeInfoExchange [mailto:DownSyndromeInfoExchange ] On Behalf Of pbeurrier@... Guest guest
could join that group (he is my son w/ Ds) - he lives for the weather! He knows the weather channel numbers by heart and checks it often! He will get up in the middle of the night to " check the weather " and watch the storms! I like storms too.
