Guest guest
Dear Sandy, We are going to mention the possibility of Diabetes tomorrow when we see immunology. Mark's GI and I discussed this today. We have a 9am appointment, weight check and then off for labs. I am going to ask if they should check him for that as well. As of tonight he has many more bruises and what looks like yeast on his bottom. Something, is really out of sinc with him. Thanks for your 2 cents ) Autumn
Guest guest
Autumn - If you're still reading tonight consider this. Keep Mark from eating tomorrow morning and you should be able to do a fasting blood glucose with those labs. Ursula
Guest guest
Ursula, Thank you for that advice. They are going to do a glucose so I will have him not eat until the blood draw. Autumn
Guest guest
From (CVID) Autumn, when platelets are high, it can indicate some dehydration. Usually when the blood gets more " concentrated " from losing fluids, the platelets and RBCs get a little more concentrated, too. So when you replenish fluids, it's normal for RBCs and platelets to drop back down again. Not always, just one thing to think about. But I'm sure you're thinking of about 20 right now (like WHY would he be dehydrated? and Why is this happening at all?). I hope things went well at the Dr. today. Let us know whenever you can... we are thinking and praying for you! Take care,

Guest guest
Autumn, Does Mark have a platlet problem? I forgot. If he is bruising should get a CBC to see what the counts are.
