Guest guest
2008 – 09 Citrus Project is underway- this year from South Texas Organic Farm – www.stxorganics.com There is an abundance of large grapefruit this season and this is a great value do to the large size. Rio Star Grapefruit (27 ct) are $45 per 40# box. The BEST Texas orange - Marrs (have seeds – good for eating or juice) oranges are $38 per box (64 – 72 ct), with Meyers Lemons $42.00 for 20lb box. Splitting boxes can be done among groups by counting out of the box (each box is marked with number of fruit). Our first order this season will be limited to 108 total boxes and I suggest that we consider the Trad- foods community first. We'll very likely do another order in mid to late January which would include valencias as well. Deliveries will be done along our 500 miles of route as well as being available for pickup at the Trad Foods Warehouse. Please designate your preferred site and include phone, address and $$ to commit to your order. All mail received after we fill up will be returned or perhaps be bumped to the order in January. The objective of the first TFMN Citrus Project was to raise funds for the events of the next season. This year, we pledge $5 of every 40# box... to the support of trad-foodsmn upcoming events, including April Foods Day '09... We'll be fully loaded with work as we deliver and track all orders. Any help at proposed sites would be appreciated as it was last season. Thank You all for supporting traditional foods in this great state, even if we need to pull it up here from Texas. If not local, it's direct from the family farm, organic food. Schlangen Egg Farm is again handling purchase & deliver. Order deadline is short- via email before midnite on December 8th. Payment to follow. Product (weather permitting) should be available starting on December 16th. Our address of 22 years is 33236 Oakland Rd, Freeport MN 56331. Guest guest
Hello group, More details on this project - Compare prices of citrus at the co-op ($1.99 per lb) with these rates of $1.13 or less. Lemons are more costly of course, but all tree ripened and picked/shipped within days. We've had orders for nearly 20 cases already and some for 1/2s. We'll offer 1/2 cases of grapefruit at $25 and oranges at $22.50. You can order at the swap on Saturday but don't wait until Monday nite. They'll be sold out!
