Guest guest
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it claimed that isometrics once a day will give continuous gains in strength? And doing it more will not give any advantage in strength gain? I think this is proven wrong with my experience. I'm quite heavy (210 lbs, 5'11 " ) and I wanted to be able to do chins. But when I was doing isometrics, my strength apparently reached a plateau. And this strength was not enough for me to do 2 chins. There was a point in time when I was able to develop so that I could do 5 to 6 chins. But only by doing single chins throughout the day. Doing it only once a day produced no benefit. I'm back to one chin now (haven't done it in about a year), and I'm sure one a day isometrics is not helping. I have to go back doing several single chins throughout the day to really " get me back " the ability to do 5 or more. Now I don't know if going from 1 to 5 chins is now a matter of endurance, but it still feels like strength to me. So I would think that doing several isometric contractions through the day would be better than singles? Gerry
