I'm reading a book right now about the thyroid, it states that patients with conditions such as hepatitis will often have an accompanying thyroid dysfunction. This guy knows his shit! He's a a thyroid specialist, clinical nutritionist and antiaging medicine. This guy says a simple TSH blood test does not cut it. Your Dr. should do a complete battery of tests- T3, T4, TSH and antithyroid antibodies, anti-TPO and antithyroglobin and a basal body themperature test (which you can do at home) BEFORE PRESCRIBING ANY THYROID SUPPLEMENTATION. I just had a biopsy on my thyroid and am waiting on the results. I'm thinking I have Hyperthyroidism (also a growth, hence the biopsy). I'ts sounds like Jackie has Hypothyroidism, which is more common. The name of the book is Solved: The Riddle of Illness by Langer and Scheer. . Any one can go to www.thyroidmd.com for more info. I'm growing more and more convinced that the Interferon I took caused or exaserbated this problem! Along with Rhumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalsia and other problems. Good luck to All, Steve Jackie on wrote: Gav, the same thing happened to me,, I lost ALOT of muscle tissue,, and so far, its never come back.. but Im not exercising which I need to,,

After treatment, when I just never got feeling back to normal, my doc sent me to a rheumy and she diagnosed me with fibromyalgia, and even today, 5 years post tx I live on Morphine for my pain, provigil to wake up because the fatigue is overwhelming. Add the pain med to the fatigue and without the provigil, Ill sleep around the clock and never get up. I have to force myself every day to even get out of bed for the 4-5 hours Im up. Treatment left me totally disabled,, BUT.. the virus is in remission,, so I guess its a fair trade off???? Im not so sure but I'd like to think so.. Im going to be seeing my doc in another month and Im going to ask her for some all natural thyroid (Armour brand) to see if that helps with my thyroid and myfatigue. All my thyroid labs seem to be normal, however, in the am, my body temp is less than 97 degrees and thats with having my warming pad on... my hair and skin are very dry, constipation etc I gain

weight very easily etc, all the signs of low thyroid. So Im going to ask her for a trial of it to see if it helps give me any added energy, I'd take anything I can get at this point.Im sure that your insulin resistance IS related to the hep virus OR the treatment.. There are things you can do to help that as well... Using REAL cinnamon can help your cells to be more sensitive to the insulin so you wont have to produce so much AND you can eliminate most things that break down into simple sugars so that the need for insulin is much less.. and add lots of fiber as that slows the sugar break down too,, Alpha Lipoic Acid is good for us heppers too,, selenium, Vit C and real vit E. Well I need to go, my dog has to go and get his sutures out. Ill be back to check in later,, jaxGavriella <gavriella_rachel> wrote: I know
