I am speech pathologist in the Dallas area....I do not work for any school

district however I have worked with many children that have recieved summer PPCD

services such as: Highland Park ISD and Plano ISD (more specifcally Barron Early

Childhood Center). You may want to contact Barron Early Childhood Center for

their summer information.

In addition outside of the public school, there are numerous private practices

that offer year round and summer groups specifically for children on the

spectrum (for all ages and levels). Not too push my own practice....but we do

offer lots of groups....you can go to www.kidspeakdallas.com to find out more

information. Other places that offer groups for children on the spectrum would

be UTD Callier Center and PlayWorks.

Hope this helps.

Thanks . I'll give Barron a call. I find it exasperating that

the PISD website provides no infomration about this, and our own

home campus flat out told me they don't offer PPCD in the summer in

Plano. That should constitute as a denial of FAPE right there since

they make it so hard for parents ot know what services are available

for their child, discourage them and hope they don't pursue it

further. Why do we have to be relentless investigators just to find

out what the potential OPTIONS are?

The summer school program I was aware of last year was at Pearson

Early childhood campus. This is why I thought it was a PPCD program,

after further checking, I found out it was elementary school summer

program, not PPCD.

My mistake!
