Guest guest
my family went to disney world in florida just this august. i have a 5yr. autistic child. we had gone to disney 2yrs. ago and we had a great time and we were given the pass with no problem. of course we thought that this recent visit would be the same. our very first day at mgm park we were so upset. they refused to give us a pass because they said that they do not issue the passes any longer due to a new florida state law that they must follow giving all people with disabilities the same access as anyone else. it made no sense to me. i even told them that if their claim was true why did they still have handicapped parking. why didn't they have the handicapp park the same areas as everyone else as to not to discriminiate as they claim they where trying to do according to the law. i explained that my daughter could not wait in long lines. everyone i spoke to from the initial person to their top person in the park where unsympathic as to what i was saying. i was actually crying because i was forced to bring out all the pain there is in raising a autistic child. i was treated as though i was trying to skip the lines just for the fun of it. finally they wrote up a special pass but is still stated which they highlighted that i can go ahead of the lines where possible. this initial incident ruined the whole trip for my husband and myself. now i am afraid to ever go out to disney again. i also have a typical twin 5 year daughter and all she talks about is going to disney. now i don't know how i can go without putting my autistic daughter through any anquish. daisy
