Guest guest
Hi Yvette, You just put the Armour beneath your tongue and let it dissolve - thus, you are taking it sublingually. Marcie, Some folks, depending on where their ferritin is and other factors, take their Armour with food to offset the quick absorption of the T3. If ferritin is too low, or adrenals aren't properly treated (or other factors), folks can have some intolerance. The same can hold true with Cytomel, which is synthetic T3. When I first started on Cytomel - the doc prescribed 5mcg - he and I discussed and I ramped up starting with 2.5mcg and a bit of food. It helped, esp because my ferritin was still 39, which is well below optimal. I'm now on a combo Armour + synthetic T4, my ferritin is 100 and I just take my meds an hour before I eat with no issues. Levothroid, being 100% T4, gets into the body a little slower than T3 does, so perhaps that's why you didn't notice a difference... but remember, every body is different! Guest guest
Thanks Karla. No wonder the pharmacist looked at me funny when I told him I had the wrong kind of armour, that it was supposed to be sublingual armour. It's my fault though. I was in such a hurry to leave the doc's office after my appt I didn't fully ask what the doc meant by sublingual armour. I almost missed my flight home. Guest guest
Ugh! What did you do about getting home? Was there a later flight or did you have to stay the night. That must have been stressful! Guest guest
I did make the flight but I had to run to the gate with my shoes untied. It's funny now but I was stressing then. Thank goodness I did not have to spend the night. Yvette Ugh! What did you do about getting home? Was there a later flight or did you have to stay the night. That must have been stressful!
