I had a subtotal thyroidectomy in 1992. No RAI. A follicular carcinoma <5 mm was found in the pathology three days later in a place where they did not expect it. No completion thyroidectomy after the cancer was found. I was given choices, but no info. Knowing what I know now, I would have had the completion thyroidectomy, but no RAI. That choice would not be suitable for everyone. I would have also insisted on a high level of suppression: undetectible TSH. . . . .They dropped the ball on that one, too. Oh, and I still

have half of the lobe where the cancer was found. . . . .and it has nodules. . . . . Kate Guynn wrote: Jan,Did you have RAI?
