Guest guest
Dear Friends, This is the companion excercise that goes with the article: " Spirit is Calling you to Gentleness " Enjoy! In light and love, ================ Whoopsie! During the coming week, notice the places where you berate or criticize yourself. Look for the small moments where you are treating yourself harshly. Do you really believe that guilt or shame will help you to change? Boldly decide to abstain from beating yourself up. Even if you make errors in judgment. Refuse to speak or think of yourself in ways that are less than kind. If you've had the chance to watch a young one transform from a crawly baby into a toddler, then you remember the kind of encouragement parents give their newly ambulatory kid. If a toddler falls down while learning, the parents don't suddenly scowl and reprimand their child: " Stupid baby! Bad! " It may seem silly, but practice treating yourself with the same encouragement the toddler receives. If you fall down, practice this important mantra: " Whoopsie! " Then, after a laugh, get back up and try again. Something important happens when we treat ourselves with gentleness. We recognize our own inherent value, and love ourselves with fewer conditions – even the irritating parts we're ready to change. We begin treat others with the same kindness, compassion, and respect. This is what our world needs. And we're the ones to offer it – starting with our own self.
