Guest guest
I use a igloo cooler with either a heating pad or terrarium heater. Old heating pads work great, but most new ones automatically turn off after 2 hours, which kind of defeats the purpose. You may need to leave the lid of the cooler cracked and/or put the heat source on a light timer if the cooler gets too warm inside. It's also great for keeping coconut oil liquid. Guest guest
Hi , I have never done it, nor have I seen it done, but have heard of just putting a light bulb inside a cooler with whatever it is you are trying to brew, creating a warmer environment. They also have seed germinating warming units that don't get too hot, but keep the brew at a constant temperature. Just some ideas I've heard of... My kitchen is so cool in the winter it takes FOREVER. My dehydrator is too short and I use my oven often. I would think in and out of the oven wouldn't be good for them. The only warm room in our house is my 3yo's room and I don't need to tell you what will freeze over before I put any glass jars in his room do I? Guest guest
We have a cubby hole that is covered with a towel and I have a light inside for warmth. I bet it is about 85 or 90 degrees in there. Works great. > > Is there any way I can keep my kefir, kombucha and kvass warmer so > they brew faster??? Guest guest
Thanks for the replies everyone. My darling husband put a light in a cabinet for me and now my brews are toasty warm. Blessings, ~
