Guest guest
I have noticed my cycles are closer together. Also- they are heavier. I have hashi's and take armour. No urinary or bladder symptoms but definitely more pms symptoms. --- DelanaK65 wrote: > I was just curious if any of you have noticed > changes in your > monthly cycle after being on thyroid meds? Guest guest
For many years I had pretty severe PMS. When I first started Armour I had really good relief from my PMS symptoms…mine were more emotional (impatient, angry, irritable, etc). Then when I was trying to work in an additional 30 mg of Armour (per my doctor’s recommendation), I thought the PMS was back with a vengeance. I was miserable and miserable to be around. The symptoms did not seem to let up when I started to flow. One morning when I woke up, I noticed my heart pounding. I wondered if maybe I was not tolerating the 30 mg increase well. So I cut back 15mg. Within a few days, I felt better. This all could be coincidental. I don’t know. When I added the additional 15mg in, I added with my afternoon dose and made sure I had a light snack. Once I tolerated that okay, I moved that 15mg back into my morning on an empty stomach. So now my PMS symptoms are much better but now I have this bleeding thing going on. Are you on Armour or synthroid? Is your dose optimized? Do you have a doctor that only treats by the lab work (TSH) or does he listen to your symptoms too? Do you think your symptoms could be from under treated thyroid? From what you describe, I also wonder if you could have a systemic candida infection going on. The symptoms overlap greatly with low thyroid and candida. I was misdiagnosed for years with Candida which there probably was a Candida component but I was most definitely low thyroid. Your symptoms look like they could still be low thyroid. Low thyroid symptoms: fatigue, weight gain, low motivation and ambition, heat and/or cold intolerance, headaches and migraines, dry skin and hair, irritability, anxiety and panic attacks, hair loss, fluid retention, depression, decreased memory and concentration, unhealthy nails, brittle nails, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, low sex drive, insomnia, hives, asthma, allergies, slow healing, acne, or carpal tunnel syndrome, female problems (tumors, fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, PMS, cramps, (dysmenorrhea), amenorrhea, female cancers, spontaneous abortion, cyclic seizures, dry vagina and infertility), weight problems (usually high, sometimes low), gallbladder disease (six times higher in women with excess estrogen or on birth control pills or ERT), heart disease, cancer, colon problems, low blood sugar, attention deficit disorder (ADD), adrenal exhaustion from excess secretion of adrenaline, and osteoporosis (from excess estrogen leading to excess adrenaline and then to excess cortisol), tinnitis, vertigo, muscle cramps, arthritis, gout, kidney stones, sleep apnea, irritable bladder, high cholesterol, and costochondritis I feel frustrated in sorting this all out. Last month with all of the pain and bleeding from the ovarian cyst plus the history of PMS, I was ready to have everything removed (hysterectomy plus tubes and ovaries). I have to call the OB/GYN’s office back on Monday. I scheduled my ultrasound on when I thought my next period would be but it appears I’m having it now but the timing is all wrong. Sorry the post is so long.
