Guest guest
Tips for keeping calm; now relax and count to ten... 1) Delegate at work as much as possible.2) Massage your skull with your fingertips in circular movement for 10 seconds.3) Stroke a cat and focus on its purr. Animal meditation at its best!4) Have a dog and walk it every day, whatever the weather. It can be a gentle amble through a park, or a fast stomp through city streets in the rain. Walk off that stress with an uncomplaining companion.5) Think of all the good things that are in your life at the present time, and think of all the good things that will happen to you in the future. For example, a wedding that is planned, a holiday that is booked or a baby that is due.6) Keep a few phials of relaxing essences (Basil, Lavender, Mandarin, Marjoram, , Neroli, Orange, Pettigrain, Clary Sage or Ylang-Ylang, whichever you like most) with you at all times, and when truly stressed, sit down if possible, put a few drops onto a tissue and inhale whilst counting to 10.7) Run yourself a long hot bath (not too hot though, we don't want you to scald yourself!)8) Imagine yourself in a special place. Lots of people have different special places - beaches, castles, a library in a country house with a roaring fire, a comfy armchair, maybe some crumpets and of course a good book!9) As soon as you become tense and feel your temper begin to rise, think of something that makes you really laugh - and keep thinking about it!10) Remember that CALM stands for these four key qualities: C = Clear thinking; A = Active, not passive, approach; L = Light-hearted, not doom and gloom; M = Magic; be creative and see the opportunity in every difficulty, not the difficulty in every opportunity.
