Guest guest
Chanda, Awww I'm sorry to hear of your son's troubles in his helmet. What type of hemlmet is Evan in? My daughter never had a problem sleeping in her band or being in the car seat. Maybe your son's band needs an adjustment?? Have you been in to see your orthotist since you got the band? My Daughter got her second band last Monday and this Monday we had an appointment with her orthotist. She grew in one week!!! I was in shock b/c she is 14 months old. So in only one weeks time, she needed an adjustment. I'd call your orthotist and ask for an appt. ASAP! Please keep up posted. > Evan, 8months, just got his helmet last week. Guest guest
Hi Chanda & welcome to our group! It is quite uncommon for babys not to tolerate their helmets. The helmet may still fit rather loosely being it's only a week old, most DOCbands are rather loose & shift a little for the first week or 2, then the child slowly grows into it & the shifting diminishes. If it is causing this much discomfort though & is affecting your day to day routines, then an adjustment may be in order. What type of helmet/band is Evan wearing? DOC, STAR, local helmet? Give your orthotist a call to have them double check the fit is proper. Best of luck with the helmet, please keep us posted.
