DEATH from cancer - and possibly heart disease - will be a thing of

the past within 20 years because of advances in genetic technology, an

expert said today.

Shine, director of the Garvan Institute for Medical Research in

Sydney, today said he believed while people would still get cancer in

20 years time, they would not die from it.
