Guest guest
The bad news is that Caremark no longer carries the Lannett generic levothyroxine that I take along with my Armour. Ditto for Costco and Target. The good news is that I found it at both Walgreen's and Kroger. The bad news is that Walgreen's self-pay price for 100 of the 50 mcg tablets is about $25 unless you buy their discount card for $20. The good news is that Kroger has it for about $13. Guest guest
Wal-Mart or Sam's has added to their $4 generic program and will now give 90 days supply for $10. They do have the 50mcg size. Guest guest
Do you know which generic levothyroxine they are carrying? Most pharmacies carry only one generic levothyroxine. They are not all created equal. The Mylan and Sandoz are relatively new and already have a poor track record for consistent potency. Tom Thumb has the Sandoz on its list of $4. generics. Quite a few pharmacies now have a $4. generic program. The Lannett on the other hand has been around for over 20 years under three different names (Thyrox, Unithroid) and has never had a recall. I have used it well beyond its expiration date and found it to be of full potency. I have most recently been using some pills that expired in January 2007 and have found it to be only slightly subpotent. But I use only a small dose along with a larger dose of Armour. > > >The bad news is that Caremark no longer carries the Lannett generic > >levothyroxine that I take along with my Armour.
