Guest guest
- I put on CO immediately after I bathe and if I just wait for a few minutes my skin seems to soak it right up. I never have grease issues with my clothes. But I have pretty dry skin. Maybe if you are still having issues with it you could do it right before bed and have a nightgown/nightclothes that you wear that you don't mind getting greasy? Maybe someone else will have better insights on that issue. As far as antiperspirant goes I found there there are too big thigns to this. 1. Don't wear any synthetic materials and 2. You have to be eating a really REALLY good diet. I don't stink at all when we are eating at home but if we " cheat " and go to a restaurant I stink for a week afterwords. This is really diet related in my opinion. I hope this helps! -Heidi
Guest guest
Hi , I had the same trouble you're having?switching deodorants but I finally found Lavender Deodorant Stick which has worked GREAT for me (I got it at Whole Foods but I bet the co-ops would have it). I can " power mall walk " with? my 2 year-old?and make it through the whole day without having to wash up and reapply?(and I, like you, have an extremely sensitive nose!).? No aluminum, paraben-free, and no animal by-products or testing. Good luck! a
Guest guest
I use my oil based lotions at night, just before I go to bed. For deodorant, I use one of those balls made of (I think) mineral salts. You get it wet and then rub it on. I really like it and it lasts forever. I got mine at Dan & Becky's Market in Cokato, but I bet it's available at any of the health food stores in the cities. Lynn > > 1. Guest guest
Hi , I can't speak to your q #1. Hopefully someone else can. But as to evil antiperspirant, the only thing that suppresses perspiration is aluminum salts. There are products that say " does not contain aluminum chlorhydrate " . What those products do contain is other aluminum salts. So the manufacturer is lying by omission. If the product says alum, that is also aluminum. Soooo......what to do? Are there essential oils that you enjoy? Use one after a shower, just a dab a drop under each arm. Rub the oil into your pits. I prefer Young Living brand of essential oils, I use lavender oil--it apparently has become my signature, from comments by friends recently. If people stink, it is because the person is under high stress, emotional stress especially. Or they are eating the wrong things and their body is not able to detox properly so they detox through perspiration. I have 2 serious questions for you... 1. How do you keep from getting your clothes all greasy when using CO or shea butter? Good skin care products tend to be cost prohibitive for our family's needs, but the good fats are so staining. 2. How do you give up the evil antiperspirant deodorant? It is my last bad thing! I have tried and have smelled those who have tried many a product to no avail. I have a nose like a hound and can pick natural deodorant users out of a crowd! And having 3 little ones does not lend itself to frequent showering. And being vegan certainly does not make you stink less!!! I know a few and they stink just as bad as the good animal product consumers. Thanks, **************One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail. Guest guest
Lynn, Those mineral salts balls DO contain aluminum. Which is why they work to control perspiration. Only aluminum will do that. See my previous email for other suggestions on dealing with underarm scent issues. Guest guest
Interesting idea of essential oils beth. But I am so laughing my butt off right now. Stress?? Trying to juggle my 3 little blessings and meet their needs all at the same time? Nope. No stress here. As for the food issue, between the food allowed on the GAPS diet and what my baby can tolerate me eating, there isn't much left eat. So what are the " wrong foods " you are referring too? Guest guest
For skin care, I would suggest picking up some all natural products from the warehouse- look for " Jozlyn's Remedies " . They are absorbed pretty well and leave your skin with a beautiful luminous shine that doesn't stay greesy. When you buy a truly all natural skin care product that moisturizes correctly, you end up using less in the long run which will save you more money through natural products seem a bit more expensive. (Don't be fooled by products that claim to be all natural that really aren't- research ALL ingredients!). This is because certain oils (like mineral oil) and chemicals and fragrances cause the skin extra hard work and damage as it is absorbed. What happens then is in the process of trying to help your skin (which it may appear right away), you are actually damaging deeper cells. When those cells come to surface (epidermal layer), the cells don't function the same as if they were healthy and you have more skin issues and have to apply more " moisturizing products " . Great for the market- bad for you! When you use something truly natural that " feeds " the cells instead of working them to distortion, is in time your skin becomes more able to function like it should- because it's HEALTHY. Skin naturally moisturizes itself- it makes it's own oil called sebum. Which allows the need for LESS moisturizers to be applied when skin is healthy. Especially when you use good quality water and eat the " right " fats. Whith Jozlyn's Remedies, you get the advantage of a nicely absorbed moisturiser that is REALLY, TRULY natural (remember you don't have to use as much either because there are NO FILLERS- it's concentrated!), plus the advantage of quality herbal essenatials (NO chemical fragrances!), which also gives you any healing properties of the herbals. Great combination! As far as deodorant- many people just use a bit of vinegar (don't do it after shaving though!) to neutralize odors. Sage works nicely, and there are other herbs that can help too. With many people, once they quit de-o they STINK for quite awhile as the body does what it's supposed to DO there- detoxify and perspire. Then it tends to even out with much LESS odor. It's like the body it saying " Ahhh- now I can get rid of the junk! " and then onces it's allowed to do its job, it's slow and steady and not too stinky unless you eat fast food or something. The thing with the salt/alum/crystal antipersperants is that it still is trying to stop the sweat glands from sweating. Just a thought. Everyone is different so you'll have to see what works for you. Typing fast before gotta get the kids up for school- sorry about any type-o's!
