Guest guest
Most people do not feel what they put on their skin is that important. They will eat good foods, live for the most part a healthy lifestyle, but when it comes to cosmetics & skin care will grab ANYTHING that has " natural " or " organic " on the label WITHOUT checking out the actual ingredients. Others feel that putting something on your skin is like " FEEDING " your Body through your skin. What do you all think????
Guest guest
Our skin is the largest organ of the body. Making sure what goes on it is of utmost importance. The lips have especially thin skin, so what you put on them gets into your bloodstream almost instantly. It's a struggle to find and afford pure products. I have spent days checking ingredients online and it's frustrating. The cosmetic database is a good reference point to begin your search. Guest guest
Absorption of chemicals through the skin to the blood stream is a very effective pathway. Directions for hormonal creams through the palms are the preferred way. Like the lips, the palms and soles of the feet, under arms, genitals are all membrane. It has been very frustrating finding creams that are " safe " . This includes hair products and sunscreens. Aubrey is the one company that has not compromised with " fragrance " like Burt's Bees after their corporate buyout. Avoid any products that have any parabens and " ethyl " in the part of ingredient names. These have estrogenic imitating factors. I have learned how to make my own lotions. It is not difficult and I keep extras in the refrigerator. When I am in the kitchen and need a bit of healing on hands, I use coconut oil from the pantry. Guest guest
I think the least fake stuff you put on your skin is extremely important. You and do absorb chemicals (good ones and bad ones) through your skin. This is the reason why I make my own soaps and Body Butter. I'm able to use pure ingredients (you can eat most of them) so nothing harmful is in the products. We got into this because we realized that many skin issues (including our own) are better helped with natural means than chemical ones. It can make the world of difference to sensitive skin. -- *~*~* Jo @ *~*~* http://laudodeumfarmholisticgoatcare.blogspot.com/ Complimentary and Alternative Goat Care. Guest guest
And don't trust " natural " or even " organic " products. http://www.organicconsumers.org/bodycare/DioxaneResults08.cfm Like the food we eat, a " product " is always less healthy than something whole or homemade. Simple things like vinegar as hair conditioner or coconut oil as moisturizer can go a long way to keep toxins out of your body. I'd be interested to hear about others' homemade skin and hair treats. .
