They've been trying to find any reason to shut him down for several years. He helps too many people get healthy without conventional means. This is proof to me that all docs better watch their backs. Basically they pay 100s of thousands of dollars just to be able to do ONLY what they are taught in our traditional Western medical schools. How sad. The doctor that I see now says that he has/had a patient that swore that HGH cured his arthritis...go figure??? Marcie Jan wrote: OMG! Subject: TMB Release: Medical Board Suspends License of R. AM Texas Medical Board Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday, June 16, 2008 Media contact Jill Wiggins at jill.wiggins@... or Non-media contact: or Medical Board Suspends License of R. Massey Jr., M.D., of Fredericksburg A panel of the Texas Medical Board suspended the

license of R. Massey Jr., M.D., license number G5341, after determining that Dr. Massey¢ continuation in the practice of medicine presents a continuing threat to the public welfare. The temporary suspension hearing took place Friday, June 13, under the Board¢s authority, granted by S.B. 104 of the 78th Legislature, to suspend or restrict a physician¢s license without notice when it determines the physician¢s continuation in practice would constitute a continuing threat to the public welfare. The suspension took effect immediately. The action was based on the following findings: Dr. Massey was the subject of an investigation based on a complaint that he was prescribing human growth hormone and other substances without medical necessity. When board staff subpoenaed the medical records, Dr. Massey refused to provide them. The panel found that

Dr. Massey¢s intentional obstruction and/or interference with the Board¢s investigation, through his refusal to produce records per subpoena, violate Board regulations and present a continuing threat to public safety. The length of a temporary suspension is indefinite and it remains in effect until the board takes further action. -30-

What's next??? Are they going to suspend the licenses of all the doctors writing scripts for Viagra just because a man asks him to??? Oh no... big pharma will never let that happen!!! We all know that there is NO SUCH THING as ED!!! It was made up when it was accidentally discovered that Viagra, in a double blind study, had this amazing effect on men!!! Only a drug can cure or treat a disease according to our FDA, hence ED!!! Marcie Jan wrote: OMG! Subject: TMB Release: Medical Board Suspends License of R. HOly cow, this is dumb. We don't even know what "medical necessity" means any more, when it comes to the prescribing of hormones. Who in the heck reported him and on what basis, I would love to know? I'm thinking we can go in and read the details, but, IMO, this is ridiculous. If he'd given the patinet(s) a bunch of tranquilizers and antidepressants, without even having a proper workup (which is what they ALL do, hands down), not one thing would have been considered out of the ordinary. Poof!! I say you're healed cause I gave you Paxil or whatever. Crud and hogwash.

Medical Board Suspends License of R. Massey Jr., M.D., of Fredericksburg

A panel of the Texas Medical Board suspended the license of R. Massey Jr., M.D., license number G5341, after determining that Dr. Massey¢ continuation in the practice of medicine presents a continuing threat to the public welfare.

It is not unusual for state boards to skewer good alternative docs who have done no harm to patients.

It's all politics-dirty politics! And who do you suppose complained?

Dr. Runels in Mobile, Alabama got summoned by his board after an insurance company complained that he was prescribing HGH. They do this because they don't want to pay the claim. This is not unusual. Fortunately, he had done all of the proper tests and had all of the necessary documentation. He was exonerated, but that was the last time he took any insurance. . . . .He told me that he nearly quit practicing medicine as a result. He would have gone back to research where the politics are a little less treacherous. But he did not want to abandon his patients.

Record keeping is the usual trap for docs who have done nothing else wrong. And testing. Medical necessity is documented with testing.

BigPharm makes those testing machines and supplies, as well as the HGH itself. They want their money.

The only defense is document, document, document. Docs who treat by symptoms need double documentation to explain why they are treating. But they damn well better run those te$t$.

This doc may have been able to save his license if he had turned over his records. . . . .if he had any.

This political angle is why I continue to list certain docs with board orders against them. If you look at our Texas Armour docs list in Files on our site you will see the "board orders" notation after some names. In most cases, the orders were resolved by the doc taking a course in record keeping or other relevant issues.

Dr Massey's dream was for people to become so healthy that he would have to learn carpentry or plumbing to make a living!!! He switched from anesthesiology to complimentary medicine after he watched his mother die with breast cancer. It really caused him to pause and wonder if she died from the chemo or the cancer. He just learned that there was so much that people could do to prevent illness. He was the first doctor to mention hypothyroid to me and prescribe Armour. I just didn't know enough then to tweak it, and he was still learning about alternatives to conventional meds. I just hate it for him because I know that he has a heart for helping people. I don't know all the details of this particular one, but it appears, at this time, that this is why they are skewering this doctor. If a person is taking all the hormones that THAT person needs, all in balance, they're not going to need the other crap that Big Pharma has for sale. I'm not saying that all drugs have absolutely no use, I'm just saying that they know that the hormonal system (all the way from the brain ones going on down) "treats" or relieves so much of this stuff, gives so much longevity, that if it's used appropriately on a particular person, according to what they need, then the drug sales will go down down down. It just makes me sick. I could see it IF he was giving a person so much of the stuff that they got sick, and he didn't titrate it properly, didn't know what he was doing, etc......but I'm coming close to betting that it was a colleague that turned him in and not a patient.

I still consider the insurance companies to be the prime suspect. If someone files a claim, then they have access to the records which would include any testing.

This is an intimidation tactic.

It's a shame that our TX Medical Board has suspended Dr. Massey's

medical license. I've been seeing him for several months and he seemed

to be helping me with my thyroid issues and other issues. Now I will

have to find another San Atonio region doctor.
