Guest guest
I think you PET scan , lol The protein markers are commonly called tumor markers(blood test) and PET scans detect masses like a CT scan would . It uses isotopes to indicate area's of disease . If you want anymore info on PET scans let me know and I will get you a link to a site that explains it all . Scan report My doctor called me today about an abdominal scan done last week. I said there had been "a change" in my liver and when I come in for the next appt, I think in June, he would do a protein marker test. He says the scan report recommends a PAT (I think) test. What is that, does any one know? I'm a little stressed about this, but not as much as I would usually be. Sharon in NW Washington Knitting is...time and love made tangible. Guest guest
I would like more info, Liz. Sorry for the pronunciation. I was a little bit stunned, he called me today, Saturday, to give me the results. He never calls unless it's bad news,.if it's good news, one of the nurses calls.Being a stresser, I'm a little worried.Sharon in NW Washington Knitting is...time and love made tangible. Guest guest
They found on my hubbies last PET scan that he had some benign cysts on his liver. He does not have Hep C, and doesn't drink very much at all. He is the once a month, have one beer kind of guy. The doctor said they just wanted to keep a eye on it, and was nothing to be really concerned about. He has 5 but they are really small. Guest guest
Don't look for trouble, hon, they found a mass on my liver in 2006 and I went ballistic, it changed nothing. Unknown mass is still there, and so am I.. They will re-check it if I go in.. Keeping you in my prayers, as I always do all of our sweet group. Guest guest
Thank you SHeena, for the fomforting words. I tend to stress and am trying to think it's just a node that was found some years ago and it's showing up on this test again. That's probably all, but then he said CHANGE, I did worry. Guest guest
It's sure normal to have a concern, just try not to let it all consume you, life is too short any way you look at it. I think I enjoy life more since I learned that I have Hep C.. I look at all things differently than I once did and stop to enjoy instead of rushing through, time moves too quickly as it is.. I really DO care, Sharon, keep us posted.. Love and Hugs, Sheena SHARON CROSBY wrote: Thank you SHeena, for the fomforting words.
