What has happened to Armour ??

last month I could not get my armour thyroid 120 mg tablets refilled at HEB

they said it was back ordered.

so I transferred it to Sam's and got it filled.

so yesterday I needed to get it refilled again , I called HEB to see if they

got it in yet and she said no.

she said its on long term back order !!!

so I called Sam's and requested a refill.

when I went to pick it up today they didnt have it.... they said the

manufacturer cant get it

or some ingredient for it.

but they had some 60 mg tabklets, so filled the order for me,I will just

take 2 pills a day.

but am so worried, what will happen if I cant refill next month ?>?

last year HEB switched my armour (forest) to a generic and after 4 weeks, I

started having a period that wouldnt stop, weak, and exhausted.. told them

dont ever do that again.

only the real armour.

once I got back on the armour it took me 2 months to regulate again and feel

better.

so am so upset now that I cant get my armour here in San

what can I do ?? if I have to switch to synthroid or something else..

how will it compare ?

if I miss one day of my pill, I get really sick. I dont want to get sick

like that again.

Call Forest Pharmaceutical Professional Affairs Department at

1-, ext.66297 is where to phone directly to see what's up

with their Armour Thyroid products manufacturing information.

Some sizes are being reformulated and will not be available for a while.

I had to get 1 grain tablets from Caremark last time. The time before that

I had to get 2 grain tablets(I'm on 4 grains). I don't remember the time

line, but I know they are reformulated and will be back in the next few months.

I don't think it's just Texas that is having problems getting

Armour. I just filled my son's Rx from Drugstore.com and there was a

delay getting 1/4 grain tablets. Also, I take levothroid (50mcgx4 to

get it dye-free) and that is backordered until July 7th.

Fortunately, I have enough to just get by. So, Lin, you might have

problems even if you switched to synthetics, as well. What I have

started doing with some of my Rxes is just making sure that I get

extra, so I have a buffer when I run into these problems. This does

mean paying more out of pocket because the insurance is very stingdy

about when you can get a refill, but it gives me some peace of mind,

as like you, I absolutely cannot get through the day without my

thyroid. And, Armour is relatively inexpensive, especially compared

to doing a T3/T4 combo with cytomel. Does anyone know if

Naturethroid is having supply issues or do they even still make it?

That might be an alternative for folks, as a backup.

We've been talking about this on some of the thyroid sites for almost months

now. The skinny is that it is not the 60 mg tabs they are reformulating, it

is the larger doses, yours included. What they will do is simply give you

60 mg tabs again, like before.

I havent been able to catch up on messages for months now..

am still way way behind on all my groups digests.

well HEB would not even give me the 60mg ..they just told me to find

another pharmacy.

so I went to Sam's, sam's was the one who said he can give me the

60mg and I will just take 2 of those a day.

he said they dont know why they cant get the 120's.

and HEB said they had no clue either, just that they were on long term

back order.

so I was getting worried about what I would do when I need to refill

next month... or what other med would do as well as the armour. I had

tried synthroid, but it didnt seem to work well for me, the armour

cured my hyperplasia that the DRs thought only surgery would do.

and I dont want to get that again.

so I want to stay with this medication. and was very worried about

what to do.

Get your doctor to write an RX for 60mg how ever many you need a

day. They should have contacted the doctor to do that for you.
