Guest guest
"We'll be using affirmations through this book. Affirmations areany statements that we make --- either positive or negative. Infact, every word we speak and every thought we think is anaffirmation. When we talk about 'doing affirmations', we mean makingconscious positive statements to improve the quality of our lives.Too often we think in terms of negative affirmations, which onlycreate more of what we don't want. Saying, "I hate this old car" willget us nowhere. Declaring, "I bless my old car and release it withlove; I now accept and deserve a beautiful new car" will begin toopen the channels in our consciousness to create that effect.Make positive statements about how you want your life to be. Oneimportant point is: "Always make your statements in the PRESENTTENSE, such as "I am" or "I have."" Your subconscious mind is such anobedient servant that if you make a declaration in the future tense, such as "I want," or "I will have," then that's where your desirewill always stay ---just out of your reach.Dr. Bernie Siegel, bestselling author of Love, Medicine, andMiracles, says that "affirmations are not a denial of the present, but a hope for the future. As you allow them to permeate yourconsciousness, they will become more and more believable untileventually they may become real for you."It seemed only appropriate to talk about affirmations from thisbook since our group is Affirmations to De-Stress. The above passagewas taken from the book called: "You Can Heal Your Life: COMPANIONBOOK" by Louise L. Hay. Publisher is Hay House, Inc., copyright 2002.Hay House Inc., P.O.
