Guest guest
Melatonin has helped sleep, too. It doesn't keep him asleep, but it gets him to sleep. usually does his tantruming at school (task avoidance). At home, I go out of my way to make him happy (tantrum avoidance). I will probably regret it, but I can't stand the crying and the self-injurious behaviors. He has put holes in my walls with his head. Every day after school, he wants to go somewhere, so I put him in the car and take him for a ride or to the grocery store. By the time we get home, it's time for dinner, bath, and bed. He will play in the warm bathtub for quite a while when I fill up a couple balloons with water. Then he's just about ready to go to sleep. ) I've never tried Epsom salts baths. He drinks a lot of bath water. Would that hurt him? Re: How do you do it? April, all good ideas. I know when my son gets crazy, I usually rub his feet. there's something about that. It calms him down. I also give him epson salts baths. I read about this somewhere and it helps calm him. I also use some lotion with lavender. The scent is very calming and relaxing. It really helps him sleep. At night, we use melatonin. Childrens Hospitol suggested this. I give them 1 mg, and it helps. God bless, Sharon
